We booked for 17:30 so we would be home in time for the football at 20:00 We ordered our drinks and mains the service was prompt to start with. Once the mains arrived that was it, no checking if everything was okay, I wanted another drink mid way through the meal but couldn't get one after trying to wave at the waiters a couple of times I gave up. By about 18:10 we'd finished our mains, and it got to about 18:40 when I went up and got someone to clear our table and I asked for dessert menus, slightly frustrating when the table behind got their meals after us and their table had been cleared, paid the bill and they'd left, while we still had our empty dishes and no dessert menus. We constantly kept seeing others being served and us being ignored, not sure if it's to do with us being young that we get worse service ( mid twenties). However we've been coming here for years with our family as we're local and spent good money here. So the dessert menus arrived, and I waved down a waitress again to order, 15 minutes after menus arrived. Wouldn't serve my partner a cocktail despite us ordering alcohol with another waitress no problem before, As she didn't have her ID, which we didn't think was necessary as were 7 years above the legal drinking age, and this same waitress has served us before no problem, but anyway it wasn't a problem I had my ID. So by half last 7 the desserts, apologised for the delay. l asked for the bill at the same time the desserts come as expected we'd have to wait along time for that too. So just before 8pm we finally left, for what we wanted to be a fairly quick 2 course meal, with huge gaps between clearing our table and getting other menus. Table next to us came in about an hour after us table of 2 at 18:30, had two course and left at the exact same time as us. Annoying part was for the first hour and a half it wasn't busy and there was plenty of staff, At one point 3 waitress were round one table wiping it and having a laugh and joke while we're still sat there with empty plates and waiting for a dessert menu, they couldn't care less about the customers, or maybe it's just because we're young they don't think we matter but in fact we're more likely to leave a review, drink and eat more, but everyone but everyone around us that we're older for served, we noticed this the last couple of times we came in but have just left it as we enjoy the food so much. No complaints to the chefs the food was fantastic as always. But please sort your front of house out, bring back Sylvia and the others they were great. Heads up to other diners they no longer accept taste card. Extremely enjoyed the food but extremely let down by the service, complete disregard for their customers
No longer take tastecard

Read more9 of us ate here. Staff very good in arranging table downstairs on arrival as one prepared upstairs was a problem. Starters ranged from calamari, prawns, fondue, arancini, chicken lecca lecca and garlic bread. All were ok, nothing great but not bad. Issue with a main course carbonara which they did not charge for. Beef brisket pappardelle was very generous in pasta but not so much in ragu. It was tasty enough but not as good as I hoped for given how they market it as loved on the menu. Pizzas ok. Desserts were a disappointment and one was forgotten. A lot of drinks unavailable and they ran out of large Peroni. Staff were good and place had a good ambience. But the price of 236 for all of us was a lot I felt for the quality of the meal. Not been here for at least 10 years and I do not think I have missed out. There are better Italian restaurants in town. But if I was down the front and fancied a pizza I would come here again.
EDIT This was as different as can be from my previous two experiences here. I ordered a large calamari for just short of 15 pounds but had to question the waiter when it was delivered. It was far bigger last time I ordered. Partner had cheese fondue and the melted cheese was bland and tasteless and a tiny portion compared to the amount of bread you got. The picture on the menu has a bowl with about three times the amount of cheese. I ordered a Christmas carbonara for main. Again a great looking picture. But sadly what arrived was a let down. No sprouts as advertised, I complained to the waiter straightaway and he assured me they were there. So a bit akin to Basil Fawlty searching for a duck in a pudding I forked about look for sprouts. The dish was taken away and replaced. As a side I ordered roast potatoes with pancetta, sprouts and honey. These, at 4.95, were quite simply terrible. Par boiled chips with skin on. No roast at all. Simply awful. I sent them back as inedible and they were removed from the bill. My partner had what she usually has for main, the pollo della casa, advertised as "Seasoned chicken breast, mushrooms and rigatoni baked in a creamy mushroom and white wine sauce." On previous occasions this has been a creamy sauce. But tonight it was dark brown and not at all nice. But she did not complain as I already had. Service was incredibly slow. We sat at the table for over 20 mins after finishing main before we managed to catch someones attention to order dessert. I'm not blaming the staff, they seemed very light on the ground and rushing around everywhere. With drinks, a dessert, a pizza for my son, the bill was just over 100. I honestly felt ripped off as we left...

We had booked a meal for the whole family (6 Adults and 7 children ) for my retirement/birthday for 8 30 pm. We arrived in good time as we were staying across the road in apartments. We were made to wait OUTSIDE!!! for 15 minutes whilst they got our table ready. Once seated, we ordered drinks and read the menu. The waiter took our order and one of the children who has autism (9 years old) shouted out his order, the waiter was unhappy at this as he hadn't reached him by that point told us he needed to take the order in a particular way.
The waitress (very pleasant) brought out drinks and we waited for our food. All the table was served except for myself. I was very surprised and shocked that a pizza cutter was given out to one of the children who had ordered a children's pizza! My meal was such a long time coming that everyone had finished their drinks and I asked the waiter for a further round. I was told by the waiter that he only had one pair of hands and he would get the drinks when he could. I suggested that he shoud get some help to serve a table of 13 people, he said he would ask one of the waitresses to get the drinks. I then asked where my meal was and it had clearly been forgotten, the rest of the table had almost finished their meal by the time mine was served. We ordered desserts and all were served, myself and my son ordered tirsmisu, we had almost finished this when the waiter brought a shot of bailey's which should have accompanied the dessert but had clearly been forgotten. After the meal, the waiter shouted across to us to clear our plates, glasses and bottles down to the end of the table to make it easy for him to remove. We are a family of italian decent and always prefer to have special meals out in italian restaurants because of the way we are treated and the staff are always very 'child friendly'. Unfortunately, it felt like were were an imposition to your waiter. This was my retirement/birthday meal and it was totally ruined by the inadequate and rude service we received. I paid £360 to have my family treated in this appalling way and I would like some feedback from the management as soon...
