We called into the Harbour bar ice cream parlour on a visit to Scarborough Friday last. This place has many sentimental memories of going there as a teenager, with my friends ,and we loved to go in here . My fav thing to have was a lovely coffee ,served in a small glass cup ,and always I had an orange club biscuit to accompany it. So that's what I had this time, and now eighty years young, and the cafe is still as great. When in later years my late hubby and our kiddies went to Scarborough ,we also went there for the kiddies to have one of the many fantastic ice creams they make up on the premises. My kids had to share a knickerboker glory much to their disgust haha. But as we told them we could at that time not afford one each. Anyway enough of my memories. Today this place I'd still great. The assistants still wear the yellow aprons, brighter yellow than I remember, but still look very smart and clean and service is still done with a smile. Do call in there if you get chance I am sure you will enjoy and make your own happy...

Been here on many occasions over the years. Ice cream is always nice and the sundaes look great. Cannot comment on food or drinks as we always come for ice cream. Eton mess and chocolata are amazing. Fresh ingredients, ice cream is nice but not a super strong flavour if that's what you prefer.

Great 50's theming inside. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can be extremely busy and there is no organization to getting a table, you just have to grab a seat when you can find one. Maybe a queue for seating if needed, or better opening the upstairs seating when it's busy as this never seems to be open, even when people are searching for seats. Maybe a suggestion of table ordering as people also trying to eat around the bar, but others queing and huddling behind trying to order.

Also service can be hit and miss, been served by some very kind polite staff, but also not even a hello or an answer or thank you back at others. Price of ice cream is ok but a...

Always a struggle to get a seat, especially because we had the entire family with us, but no wonder, because the ice cream is fab. We have been coming for years. Very clean with good service. I love the chocolatas and chocolate nut sundaes, making my mouth water just thinking about them. I love that my coffee is served in a glass too and love the original 50s decor. Its a great place on our doorstep and the ice cream is the best in Scarborough. Long may it continue. I've taken off a star because they are stopping their kids club. This was such a great little treat for children to recieve a card and ice cream for Christmas and birthdays, such a pity it's not going to continue. My kids are grown up now and loved it when they were small, so am sad that this is stopping and not being extended to my grandkids. Maybe they will reconsider at a later time,...

Ice cream lunch for us... we were passing by and intrigued, saw a free table and went for it! The Harbour Bar is set out in a 50's style Diner. They do lots of varieties of sundaes, ice creams, waffles, Soda floats etc. Between us we got a variety; a toasted waffle with ice cream and strawberries, a kids sundae, and cherry amore sundae and a cherry Soda float. All of really enjoyed what we got, with nothing left at the end! Staff were pleasant and nice, and managed to remember my order without writing anything down! The whole place was fairly tidy and clean, and as stated earlier was very much 50's Diner themed. Recommend if visiting this area!
