Where to start.. do not go here!! After an 8 hour drive to Cornwall 4 of us decided to find a nice little cafe and have lunch.. we were starving!! We enter the honeypot which looked very cosy and nice from the outside.. as we arrived we were seated in the corner of a room where we had to lift a solid oak table to squeeze in, this we can live with... as mentioned before we were very keen to eat and the waitress told us they were still cooking breakfast but not taking Breakfast orders and we will have to wait 15 mins before they will Start the lunch.. we were all so hungry we just ordered and hoped for the best.. the best didn’t come.. :( after a wait of over 50 mins we received 3 dry dry dry sandwiches and a salad taken out of a bag which had zero dressing and again was awful!!! Nothing is fresh here and no effort is put in.
To drown our sorrows me and a friend ordered 2 beers (they were out of all the beers the offered on tap)!!! This was 2pm!!! So we thought we would order 2 bottled beers... what could go wrong with that right? the waitress to our utter astonishment came out with 2 beers and made us choose who got the cold beer and who got the warm one with no offer of yet another drink.. this is not how you treat your customers!!!!
As we went to pay as 2 couples we were then told we couldn’t pay half and half???? There is no reason for this. Stay away!!! Terrible food, disgusting service and warm beer!!!! £65 badly spent!!!!

Read moreCame in to Penzance specifically to get some food at the Front Room after visiting St Michael's Mount nearby. The reviews looked good and we were gutted our experience was pretty poor.
There were six of us and we ordered a mix of breakfasts, sandwiches, Buddha bowl and children's menu. It later transpired there was no falafel for the Buddha bowl, but we still were happy to order it. It came with no falafel and no mixed beans - it was essentially some leaves out of a bag, red onion, sweet potato and balsamic vinegar. I went to raise this with who appeared to be the owner, and he was dispondant and told me to speak with the waitress. I did, she then spoke with the owner, who then said to remove it from the bill. Really odd the manager/owner would not speak with a customer.
Furthermore the eggs on toast were a disappointment - hard yolks and therefore very dry. The avacado was not seasoned and bland as hell.
We went on a bank holiday Monday so not sure if the usual chef was off, but I can't see how any cafe would last long churning this quality of food.
The nail in the coffin was the lack of attention by the waitress. We had finished our food and couldn't attract their attention to get the bill. More interested in rolling a cigarette and chatting amongst themselves. When the bill came, the Buddha bowl was still on there and we had to get it removed.
Poor show. Raise...
Read moreOn arrival we asked if dogs were allowed in and they said yes so in we went. We were first seated upstairs then told dogs were not permitted upstairs so was taken downstairs. The waitress tried her best to accommodate us but had to re- seat another table to enable us to be seated. The other customers were rude to us because of this. Once seated we were informed of a list of items that were not available from the menu, chips, salad, breakfast items etc etc. At this point we really should have left but we were hungry but it seemed OK. The waitress took our drinks order and when she bought them back took our food order. Only then did she mention a slight wait. Well an hour later and the place had even closed the doors, we still did not have our food. A slight delay is maybe 20 - 30 minutes not an hour and a half. To give them the benefit of doubt we waited and the food arrived and was disappointing to say the least. Tapas is basically all we were resulted to and scraps from the kitchen is what we got. Kitchen staff moaning and not compassion fro the staff. Bad service, a waist of money, the place being run by inexperienced adolescents. Not a good experience and disappointing as it was a recommendation. Will not...
