Finding this shop at the heart of Windermere, was like finding a little piece of heaven.

My son has a peanut allergy and while the shop next door to this one, as well as many others, told us they wouldn’t serve someone with an allergy, at this store, the kind and caring, owner’s son, literally could not have been more willing to help and cater to his needs.

Their gorgeous ice creams are all peanut free! Even so, they still sterilised the scoop spoon and for the first time ever, my 15 year old son, could pick from a fabulous array of flavours, from a specialist shop and he was in heaven.

We were both greedy and had three scoops-our favourites being the Jaffa cake one, the toffee popcorn flavour and dark chocolate and ginger. However, there wasn’t one flavour that we didn’t love.

I asked about their macarons and again was assured they were peanut free but to completely put my mind at ease, he said he’d speak to the owner, his mam and I agreed to pop back a couple of days later, after she confirmed they were ok.

Fast forward two days and back we went and Amanda, (the owner) and her friendly staff, (I apologise for forgetting her name), were just as kind, welcoming and helpful as her son had been.

We finished our holiday here, with another three scoop ice cream, each. They were huge scoops and they were gorgeous.

We then went on to buy a box of 12 macarons, (peanut free), 4 boxes of their special handmade chocolates-peanut free and a doggy ice cream, that our Labrador devoured in no time.

I can verify that the boxes of chocs, two of which were gifts, could not have been praised more highly and the macarons were perfection-we couldn’t pick a favourite flavour.

I hardly ever write a review, simply because life is so busy but I couldn’t not, after visiting this one, twice.

If you’re in Windermere, treat yourself-you deserve it. We all do. Pop to this lovely family business and really support wonderful people, who care about their customers and ensure that people who have allergies can still enjoy the very best treats.

I’m disappointed we live such a long way from Windermere but was relieved to hear they have another store and also a website, which I will definitely be paying a visit to and already know will be a wonderful place to get some Christmas gifts and to treat myself and my family, when we really need that touch of heaven.

A huge thank you to Amanda, her son and lovely assistant. It’s rare to find such kind, caring people, who gave up so much time to make sure we were looked after.

A real gem...

Called in Sugarfinery yesterday on a quick stop over in Windermere. What a find ! The choice of ice cream flavours were amazing. The shop has beautiful decor and is really inviting. But mainly I want to mention the lady in the shop and how I can't praise her highly enough for her treatment of myself and more importantly my disabled friend. We arrived there when it was almost closing time, but due to the style of the building it was not possible for my friend to access the shop on her mobility scooter. This however was no trouble for the lady in the shop, she was very patient and even let me take the sample cones outside for my friend to choose. She then came outside and re-arranged the table and chairs so that the scooter could be parked at the table. She brought the lovely ice cream out to us and said although it was closing time soon we were welcome to take our time. We didn't feel rushed at all. So a big thank you for being so kind and patient, and of course for the...

What an amazing find! I stumbled into this haven of tranquility on a very hot day, there is something for everybody here with the selection of quality ice creams on offer. I enjoyed the classic chocolate flavour and was blown away by the high quality, and for less than walking around the streets with a mass produced offering. Sitting down in comfort while Windermere rushed by outside was a bonus for me although you can have whatever you want to take away. Amanda and her lovely team obviously have a passion for their shop as the service and friendliness was exemplary. There's more than just ice cream available and as someone with a sweet tooth I'll be working my way through the menu on...

Sugarfinery = My New Happy Place Came in for one scoop… left emotionally attached to the ice cream. I don’t know what kind of wizardry they’re working in that little cup, but WOW. Creamy, dreamy, and dangerously delicious. Like, hide it from yourself in the fridge kind of good. And the lovely lady running the place? She’s the sweetest part of the whole experience. So warm and kind, I felt like I was being served by a dessert angel. Bonus points for the cute biscuit with the logo—fancy AND tasty? Yes please. 10/10 would recommend. Your mouth will be happy. Your diet might cry. Worth it. Go. Eat. Thank me later. #Sugarfinery #IceCreamAddict #SweetToothHeaven #WorthEveryCalorie
