I don't really understand how people can give 1 star to this place! All venues in England are short in staff, as everybody knows... and all the price are rising up year by year. But so far with £10 I've never had such a good portion of great food for two nowhere!
I went yesterday with my girlfriend for the first time to Taka Taka because we where curious to try this new shop in town. Surprisely the staff was really friendly and polite even though other reviews say differently! (Probably we've been served by a good employees, rare in those times).
They suggested us to order the Skepasty dishes," large size would be good for two" they said and it was! The quality of food was over the avarage. The pitta bread, really soft and fresh, the meat tasty 🤤 and the fries well spiced! We had the hummus as sauce instead of the yogurt because I can't have cucumber, and the hummus was really fresh made with good ingredients! It took about 10 minutes, a reasonable waiting time for the type, quality and preparation of the dishes. People are used to complain when they have to wait a little bit longer to get their meal compared with other fast foods. But if you want quality you can't pretend also to get served in less than 5 minutes! I work in the same environment and I can ensure that with shorter time you can't get some fresh made and prepared food. Even if present itself as fast food I would not consider this place like that, but more like a typical Mediterranean tavern! At the end as total we spend over 15 pounds, that's because we took some pastry for later on... so price absolutely honest! We will go back there fore sure! I strongly...
Read moreIm a local guide with nearly 3 million views on my reviews on Google maps . We always go to Munchies but this time decided to try something new . We went to this Taka Taka place and we waited for 20 minutes if not more for 3 simple chiken doners with tzatziki.... I saw other people making orders and they took their orders before us while we ordered long before them . I got upset because they made us wait so long so I went to the till twice to ask for my order , on the second time I saw my 2 out of 3 doners just sitting there and they been sitting there for so long they weren't warm even , so I asked for a refund. I was told to get the refund I need to chase it over some email. So I was offered to eat food that wasn't served hot as it should, therefore I wasted 30 minutes of my life then I was refused a straight refund and now I need to beg people on emails to give me my own money back . The first and last time I went there . The staff was trying to solve the issue and they were afraid their bosses will give them bad ratings but why they didn't serve the doners 1 by 1 but had to keep them on their table to get cold ? They need to change the way they serve food . You can't wait for 3 doners to be served together, they need to be served as soon as they touch the bread . I am just going to stick to Munchies no more experiments . Go to munchies on oldchritchurch road and learn from them how to serve food before you display it , they are the best place for...
Read moreGood food, poor people skills. They've lost a regular customer. I used to order in/take away from them at least once a week. When trying to place an order on the self-service kiosk on a busy day I couldn't find one of the items that I normally order even though as a regular customer I know it's on the menu (it's there on Uber eats as well as on the displays above the counter). When I tried to approach the people at the till I was ignored. When I tried to ask a question to the lady behind the counter I was cut off and said "only order at the kiosk, we are very busy". Didn't even listen to me. I mean, if you don't want my money, just say it. I will not give business to people who can't even be bothered to treat me like a human being by giving me a minute of their time. This was the second time I was treated this way so safe to say I'm never going back (the first time was when I came to pick up an order and the lady in the shop tried to usher me out saying "we're not open yet" even though I'd ordered via Uber Eats which said 'ready to collect'. I had to be persistent and show her my order on the phone. She promptly closed the door behind me after giving me my order). It's a shame, really....
