We came here as we are previous customers from 2 years back. We all started by ordering our drinks. Our time here appeared to be going quite well, we ordered our drinks, our food and they asked us if we wanted poppadoms in which we agreed. We were chatting away when one of us noticed 4-5 drowning ants in the coke he was drinking. Instantly we all panicked checking our drinks. We bought this to their attention but no apology was made. They took the glass and bought back a fresh one. We continued our time here willing to put it behind us. The food was nice, we all enjoyed eating it. We quickly finished off our meals and they bought out the hand towels for us to wipe our hands on which was covered in mold. Every single one that was sealed shut. This raises questions as to the environment that the food is being cooked in, and the storage of there things. We again, raised this to their attention but again, no apology and infact this time they seemed very unbothered about the wipes being covered in mold. This is 2 occasions of hygiene standards being below the bar within such a short space of time... because of this, I feel less inclined to want to return here again and especially seeing their careless attitudes towards the ants in the drink, and the moldy hand wipes. Because of this, it ruins anything else that is good of the restaurant unfortunately as clean and top standards for hygiene is key for health and safety and paramount for the business and customers. It is a true shame...
Upon reflection on the payments I noticed in very small writing that they also charged a 10% service fee which should have realistically been pointed out before hand. I would have refused to pay seeing the cleansliness...
Read moreI recently dined at Tandoori Weymouth and had a very disappointing experience. We ordered two egg fried rice, two naan breads, and two beers. Unfortunately, the egg rice had a strong, unpleasant smell, and the vegetable curry was equally off-putting.
When I raised my concerns with an older gentleman at the restaurant, I was met with indifference. To make matters worse, we were charged an £11 service fee. I expressed that, as i works in a five-star hotel, I know we have the right to choose whether to pay a service charge based on our experience.
The service was slow, taking an hour for our food to arrive. When we inquired about the delay, the waiter said the kitchen was busy due to a large group, which didn’t seem like a satisfactory explanation. In the end, we ended up eating only naan bread, as the other dishes were inedible.
After eating the egg rice, I became quite ill that night and experienced severe vomiting (i am pregnant). This is actually only the second review I’ve ever written in my life, and I had no intention of doing so. However, the combination of poor food quality and unhelpful service compelled me to share my experience.
I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary...
Read moreHaving lived in west London most of my life, I was spoiled for choice when it came to Indian restaurants, and when I moved to Weymouth I saw saddened with the choice of Indian restaurants in the area, However last Saturday that all changed, I joined a group of men I used to work with for a meal at the Great Weymouth tandoor which I didn’t know existed, as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and directed round to the table that was reserved, the service team where polite, had massive smiles and kept the drinks flowing, then came the food, well my gosh, you could taste the difference in each deliacy, from the sweet to the spicy from the veg to the meat, you could taste the love in each mouthful. I fully recommend the great Weymouth tandoori to all, great service, amazing food and happy prices. Take it from an ex west Londoner, you eating like a king if you eat a great...
