Tiger Inn — Restaurant in England

Booked an Afternoon tea yesterday for the wife and me. You book on-line, which is very easy and I put afternoon tea for two in the booking notes. But the confirmation email stated you also have to ring in for an afternoon tea as they won't read it from the notes....seems dis-jointed that you can put nut allergy in the notes and that is picked out but afternoon tea isn't? However, that is the one and only demerit. You are met outside as you enter, you are shown to your table, all of which are a good size. The orders a taken quickly and you are served promptly too. The food is very well made and presented and tasty, and more than you can possibly eat (see photo). Tea and coffee including lattes are unlimited and staff are attentive without being intrusive. Myself and 3 friends came to this place for a Christmas meal but were disappointed that 2 of our party who are severely dairy intolerant had not been catered for even though their needs had been clearly explained. The member of our party who had booked complained about this. The Management apologised and invited us back to show us that they were sorry it had happened. We went today and the experience was like night and day. The food was first class and service excellent. I had a beef and ale pie, beautifully cooked, tender meat and lovely golden chips. My companions were equally happy with their food and their dietary requirements properly catered for. I believe that it is when something goes wrong that a business really shows if it cares about its customers. This business shows that it does care and I will be very happy and confident to...

Well..if I needed to, I could sum the Sunday lunch here with one word.. "Spectacular"! But that would be a shame.. so let me tell you.. this is easily the best Sunday lunch I've had for as long as I remember.. the quality of the produce was outstanding..and the team in the kitchen certainly knows what to do with them! Everything was absolutely delicious!

But that's not the whole picture.. the atmosphere at the Tiger is really lovely..very friendly warm and welcoming.. a nice buzz about the place.. no dusty library Sunday dinner here! The waiting staff were particularly good.. especially Ben, who cleared our table.. and Theo for his cheeky disposition!
