Comptoir Libanais - Exeter Rating 4.3/5 Remember if you work for NHS you get a 25% discount I have been to this place too many times, and it never disappoints me * Mezze Platter for two - Ā£21.95 : 8/10 * Mixed Grill - Ā£16.50 : 9/10 * Spiced Chicken Kofta - Ā£13.95 : 8/10 * Lamb and Halloumi burger - Ā£13.50 : 8.5/10 * Spiced Chicken Man’ousha -Ā£10.95 : 6/10 Starter -Mezze Platter for two A full flavour with pitta bread, hummus, cheese samboussek, quinoa tabbouleh, falafel etc., made my mouth watering even before I started eating it. The best piece of this art is the hot falafel. The mezze is sufficient enough for 5 people to share before having a heavy main Mains: Mixed Grill I tried the mixed grill as I always like a mix of chicken kofta, lamb kofta and chicken taouk, and it was full filing. The meat was cooked well with a juicy texture a full of flavour that dissolves in your mouth when you eat it. The rice did go well with the two sauces, but the salad was a bit bitter for me. I tried the other mains and found the lamb burger to be the next best thing that we ordered, where the burger was juicy, and the fries provided tasted fresh. The chicken kofta was nice too, but man’ousha was the least favourite, and the crust was slightly burned, and I didn’t feel it was value for money to order again. We also ordered a few beers; they were nice, but the fresh rose mint tea was disappointing. I wished the tea would have had a bit more minty taste! Overall the food was amazing, the ambience was fantastic and excellent customer service. Also, you can now download their app and get a Ā£5.00 credit if you place an order through the app.

So so. First off the staff were really lovely , kind and accommodating to us which was pleasant. However the restaurant was really cold. We were originally placed in front of the doors as it was very busy, once it quietened down we asked to close the door or move places. Unfortunately once we moved it was still freezing 🄶 making eating a little uncomfortable. It is worth noting that it was a cold, rainy day. As for food the mezze plate was lovely and really filling. They bring a huge portion so if you want room for mains watch out or share with 3 not with 2 people. Then mixed grill was delightful with really tasty meat options. We also got the fish option too, I would not have this again as although the fish was beautifully cooked it was overwhelmed by a very strong sauce. Too many elements in the sauce gave it a tarty taste and it was spread over the whole meal. Overall I liked the experience but beleive the things explained above can be easily fixed to bring it up to 4/5 stars.

Had really high expectations after hearing amazing things however this individual experience didn’t live up to all that had been raved about. The food portion was tiny and felt that for the price the amount of chicken I got wasn’t worth it and I left still hungry. The service was also really mixed, we had to ask for water three times before a waiter eventually realised it still hadn’t arrived. The table next to us also had to repeatedly ask for drinks which didn’t arrive. Additionally I found the mix of ordering on the QR code and through the waiting staff messy. It was a shame that the experience was so lacklustre and the portion size (of the chicken meal) so small as the food itself was lovely. The falafel meal however was a more appropriate size for the price. I would go back but maybe at lunchtime as I feel the lunchtime menu is more accurately priced to what turns up on the plate.

I have had a very bad experience in this restaurante. The food I order had on it a stone, when I chewed the food it caused me several fissures and scratches over my lower tooth and upper tooth. I feel so... I don't know how to express it, my teeth has been scratched forever, by their fault. I can't believe this things happen, can't they clean properly the lettuce? If they can't keep a standard of safety don't open a restaurant.

Something that has upset me even more is the low aptitude with which the staff took this issue, at the first time of scratching my teeth I was not aware of it, I took the stone out of my mouth, I told a waitress and she replaced the food, but later on I notice with my tongue my teeth were not smoothy, at that time is when I got shock and scare, when I went to speak this time with the staff they treat the issue as if was a simple issue, she said here you have the managers restaurant number, and that's it. She didn't say sorry, not at all, not sorry anywhere, neither they asked me my number, for maybe make a call from the owner of the restaurant to express how sorry he is for having this experience. Even this doesn't solve the problem, at least shows respect and responsibility. They didn't asked me if I was alright, if maybe needed to go on urgency to the dentist, a tiny hole appeared on my tooth. And on top of all of this, then came the waitress to said to us that we have to leave, perfect, so you treat bad your customers and even more bad. I am angry, disappointed. I am still waiting to see someone call me to say sorry for this.

I know they haven't done this purposely, but still is a huge irresponsibility to serve food on such high safety risk as scratching-cracking teeth. And with it, there shouldn't come other aptitude that one about respect, attendance and responsibility.

This occurred on 30th December at around...

Greeted as soon as we walked in with a lovely warm smile from the waitress and we asked for outdoor seats and it was NO Problem at all. We then moved in as the wind picked up and again No problem at all. Dishes are either Mezzes or main dishes.

Menu says 2-3 per person and we thought that was like a tapas but apparently not. That's your starter and each one costs £8

And it can be the smallest pieces of halloumi. To give you an idea on the size, 2 small match box size pieces of halloumi.

Again another was a small bowl of potato squares £8

I don't like to use the word rip off but they could have been fairly priced.

It terms of flavours coming from an Indian background I found them quite tame.

5 small and i mean small dishes and 2 drinks cost £60 and that's not even taking into cost what the full cost of mains would have been. We didn't stay for mains as the failure to tantalise my tastebuds meant we didn't think it would have been worth spending an extra £15 per main dish which would take the total cost to £90 without a 2nd round of drinks.

I can say I've tried Lebanese food. Vege options are limited. If you like aubergine you'll be ok Thank you I don't think I'll rush...
