My engagement ring is 18 months old and a small diamond has come out. My wedding is in 3 months so not great timing and do not want to be without an engagement ring on my big day. I’ve been in communications with F Hinds online who advised that I could send the ring back for inspection or go in store for them to do this. The member of staff who served me was not helpful whatsoever when I spoke of my problem and advised I would have to wait to speak to the manager who would not be available for approx 20 mins. ( I had my 18 month old grandson with me so not ideal) I explained that I had been speaking with online services who said that it could be sent back for inspection. The unhelpful service then continued as the member of staff then said I doubt it is in warranty and looked at her colleague to try and get confirmation that I would not be entitled to any help, I then said it says 2 years online (and F Hinds have already confirmed I can send it back for inspection) when the company are expressing the quality of their products and their guarantees. The member of staff then just kept saying had I purchased from their scheme to protect the diamonds (forgotten the name of this) the staff member then went off and her colleague took over, this member of staff then processed for the ring to be sent back and gave me the receipt on which I noticed on the description that it said, diamond has fallen out , customer not happy. Which was true I wasn’t happy but not that the stone had fallen out (faults occur and can be rectified) I was unhappy with the dismissive, unhelpful, unprofessional service I had received from the staff of which once received cannot be rectified. I would suggest some training be given to teach some basic customer service skills. I will not be visiting a F Hinds store...
Read moreThe staff were very helpful in repairing my gold men’s bracelet when a link accidentally broke!, the repair was very professionally done and at a great price!. Unfortunately shortly after a second link broke and had to be returned for a further ongoing repair!. After checking every single link for any weakness in the bracelet construction, it was returned to me fully repaired again, with a top class repair done, and good advice given on trying to prevent any further damage in the future. Overall I have shopped at this shop, purchased wedding rings, engagement rings, and have spent a considerable amount of money in the Exeter store. In all that time I have found them to be totally professional, helpful, and considerate in their repairs, and prices charged!. I will always continue to use the Exeter shop because of the great staff their, and have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone considering using their shop!. I'm sick to death at the fact that every time I've bought some thing from thus shop usually in 100s of pounds the first thing they show me is 19.99 and when I point to the item I wish to buy usually the most expensive item on the silly little tray I always get a ' oh what that one' followed up with a sly look up and down . I've had 2 good experiences from this shop vs the 5 times I've walked out feeling completely insulted ,and those two times was because the item was paid for online . I feel if I was to wear more pleasing clothes I'd not be judged . At first I thought it was my imagination so today I took my fiancé in with me and she agreed that what I thought was happening did indeed happen . I won't be shopping in this shop any more .
