I donât normally come to this part of town because I usually use Exeter Central station for train travel but I often go on long journeys by train and for that, of course, I have to use St. Davidâs.
I start early in the morning and before heading into the station I stop at this Costa first for my morning coffee and a cake sometimes too.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, service is quick even when busy. The coffee and cakes are excellent as youâd expect from Costa. Note: it is just a takeaway Costa purpose built for travellers using St. Davidâs station so donât expect tables chairs and china cups.
I will always come here because the Starbucks opposite the stationâs ticket office and the Pumpkin coffee shop on platform 5 are both massively overpriced, theyâre very messy and the staff simply donât care about...
   Read moreA very badly run coffee shop with mostly uninterested and blunt baristas who are low energy. In the past, they messed up so badly and spilled milk down my leg and barely apologised. Nowadays, they are the mask police and demand to see an exemption to wearing a mask when I say I canât due to hidden disability (even though no such document legally exists and doctors have said that they are not granting exemptions). I believe what they are doing is actually illegal under the Equality Act 2010 so they ought to be more careful with their zealous insistence on masks. I was served by a boy with curly hair and piercings who was absolutely lovely and polite, and the girl making my drink with him was so happy and bubbly in the background singing away.
