I use the trains daily so it isn't rare to go into Starbucks before work, it's nice to have a little treat in the morning right? When you go into this Starbucks you are greeted with a spacious, calmly lit atmosphere. It's a nice place to be. It's quite rare but sometimes it's nice to get in early and have a little relax inside. I have never had a bad service from the staff, all of them have been so lovely, very welcoming, smiley and helpful towards me. Never fail to make me feel welcome when I go to order. I always love going into Starbucks when they have a special drink or seasonal items, have had some amazing drinks like the red apple roobios and macha tea latte, some amazing cakes like the cranberry cheesecake muffin. They always take care in their drink making and I have had some of the best caramel macchiato I have ever had. My only problems with this branch is despite selling Starbucks cards... you can't use them in this branch (I don't know if this is different now). I have no idea whether this is to do with the fact it's at the station or not. So I bought one there for my partner, had some money on it, but couldn't use it, which was pretty annoying. Another thing is that somethings they display some of the promotional or seasonal items, you ask for it and unfortunately they don't do it in that branch... I was told it was only in selected stores. Had this a few times. Had it recently with the white chocolate and cherry cake. There isn't a bin in the premises, just a little rest. Lastly... the price. My partner and I got two Caramel macchiato coffees from the station in the morning, then we felt adventurous decided to get two more in the centre of town... The stations were two pounds more expensive (pound more expensive each). So we can't use our cards, don't get the full range yet.. we pay more... bit backwards I think. I imagine as Exeter has a lot of train changes and waiting, they know you are willing to pay to have a coffee whilst you wait. But I just want to say, the staff are amazing and always lovely. Honestly always make the experience so much better, I was told by my dad, you pay for good service.. so maybe that is why I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are visiting Exeter from Australia and had a drink this morning before boarding the train to London. I picked a few magazines up from the shelve ,showed and asked my daughters which one they wanted to buy. One female staff member came up to us and rudely said with an attitude " You have to pay for them before you read". I was amazed at how rude she was. We simply were having a look before we buy just like other customers. I went to the counter with one of the magazines and spoke to the same female staff member who accused us of reading the whole magazine without paying for it first. And then a male staff member took over the conversation and accused me of raising my voice which is ironic due to the way the female staff member talked to me. I told him that I am not happy and his reply was " Do you want to buy this magazine or not !". I simply said no. Why would I? They didn't even apologise for her way of talking to me; the staff members were ganging up on me and after the whole thing kept laughing loudly behing the counter like school kids instead of cleaning the messy and dirty tables around us. They really didn't handle the matter professionally or in a polite way. It doesn't take much to apologise . I wish I could rate this as 0 stars but unfortunately I don't have an option for it. We have traveled around the world many times but this is the worst experience so far. The staff need to be trained seriously. We're not coming back. Costa coffee all the way. -Arianna from Perth,...
Read moreI visited this Starbucks coffee shop last week as I had some free time before my train arrived, & i am not happy that I have been overcharged for the 2 bags of coffee beans that I purchased, the server took a while to put the items through the till & apologized for the delay as he couldn't find the price, he then found what he was looking for & I scanned my bank card & paid before realising that he had just said £19.20, I asked him to confirm what I thought I had just heard & he said yes that's correct as they are £9.60 a bag, I was in total shock & just walked off with my coffee, vowing to contact Starbucks customer support as soon as I get home to question this rediculous price.
Once home i decided to take a photo of these coffees to send to Starbucks, but when I turned the espresso over it very clearly stated that the price was actually £5.40 per bag, NOT £9.60, that is almost a £10 over payment for these 2 bags of coffee, I have now contacted Starbucks online on 3 separate occasions asking for a refund but I have still had no reply, my bank won't help me as they say they I need to sort this issue out with Starbucks directly and I can't take both the coffees back to another store because I wasn't given a till receipt, I can't believe it as I usually purchase 6 packs of this coffee from Nestle directly via Amazon for only a few pounds more, disgusting rip...
