Was here for dinner with a friend on a weekday. Following a flight of stairs, the restaurant's atmosphere is grand and well decorated, really high ceilings (which my friend wasn't fond of, don't know why). They also appear to have an area for special events. Food was expensive-ish but in keeping with the area. Waited 30+ minutes for our orders to arrive when it was relatively quiet. My friend really liked the pork belly starter that she had, but my vegetarian friters was a disappointment with just two small pieces costing £8. The skin on fries could have done with more sauce with the truffle and parmesan add-on. The mushroom tarts was probably worth trying but I won't be back for it. Service was mostly friendly and approachable. But I wonder if this is related to the 10% optional service charge that they silently add onto your bill.

Went in for a drink on a very quiet early Thursday evening. Ordered a beer from a wee bartender (dark hair n beard) who reluctantly left his phone to take my order of 1 corona. Now it was on a bargain promo of £3 but he charged me £3.95. When I quizzed him on the price as it had said £3 on the menu, he said "oh that's what we usually charge students." Having worked in the Glasgow bevvy racket I'm not sure that would be even legal however I think he was just making it up. As I entered my card details he turned his back went back on his phone. Zero acknowledgement, not even "thanks". The til popped open right at the bar and if ine were so inclined they could have had a right turn, as he was too consumed with his phone. Sticky tables all around the gaff. Basics. Not a good look.👎

Went to the brunch after the Barbie Boozical. Cinema part was great! The brunch & drinks after upstairs were horrendous. Waited 50 mins for first cocktail which was watery as the slush machine was broken but they served it anyway. The brunch was inedible, not properly cooked, cold and awful quality (picture is good not touched) I’ve never walked out of a restaurant in my life. Several others walked out too. Manager’s attitude in the cafe was awful. The cinema manager and staff were incredible and provided a full refund. Avoid Grosvenor Cafe at all costs! Support the cinema though!

I do not recommend people make any booking at this place. Book a table for 7 people nearly 1 month prior the date we would go, then they require a 10 pounds pre book payment which I thought was ok, paid the 10 pounds per person, then 3 days after they require a full payment from the special festive menu 30 pounds per person, which was never stated on beggining of the booking that it would be required. As I was booking to go with other people that was happy to go to this place felt uncomfortable to cancel the booking and end up paying myself the full amount to everyone until my friends refund me. Then not happy enough with the full payment few days after they request we to make the food order which honestly was so uncomfortable have to push my friends to tell me what they like as we would have to chose what to eat weeks before the day. Anyway end up making the food order 1 week prior the date. Then on the day one of my friend got sick and could not come, I end up telling then around 5 pm my friend could not make it to the 8 pm dinner start and asked if we could use the 30 pounds paid towards our drinks so we could refund our friend... no could not as they said they have made the order in the kitchen already and bla bla bla so end up loosing the 30 pounds without using the food and they also kept the food to serve another client as it was never cooked and was a vegetarian order.... anyway very disappointed and I will never make a booking at this place again as I though the whole process was very pushing and client abusive. The place is nice but their is many others that won't require so much prior and would be...

We went here to get lunch with a group of 8 people. The location looked terrific and we were excited to taste what the Grosvenor Cafe had to offer. We were however deeply disappointed by the staff and the quality of the food.

When we sat down we had to wait for some time until a member of the staff came over to ask for our drink orders. After ordering we had to wait for approximately 25 minutes until we finally received our drinks. Because my drink was carbonated I could taste that they had been sitting out for quite a while. All of this would have been acceptable if there had been a lot of people in the restaurant, but there weren't. Only about 1/4th of the tables were occupied and there were at least 5 staff members.

Then we were asked for our lunch orders. There were plenty of options and our waitress was very open to specific dietary needs. After ordering we eagerly awaited our meals, but they too took ages to finally arrive. Even so we still didn't get an apology from the staff. One of the orders was incorrect, but that mistake was rectified quite quickly. The meals themselves were moderate at most. Some bits were overcooked and a burger was just burnt. There were also some ingredients missing from the salads and the avocado was far from ripe. The salad overall tasted funny and was therefore sent back. After that the quality improved, but it still wasn't up to par.

In short, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Although the location is great the staff and food are terrible. You definitely aren't getting your money's worth and are better off trying one of the many other restaurants...

We were sat at a dirty, sticky table and told that someone would be over to clean it - never happened. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone else acknowledged us (all staff seemed like they were almost trying to dodge eye contact!) to take our drink and food order. The starter then arrived before the drinks?! The arancini were so bad, but were were starving and had to eat something fast. They advertise them as mozzarella and tomato - they’re far from it. Inside the arancini was a bright orange cheddar cheese and no tomato. For the tomato element (and this was actually laughable) there was a tiny smear of red sauce on the plate, not even enough to utilise it as a sauce - it was a mere garnish! The mains were bland and appeared to be frozen/microwaved, which is absolutely ridiculous for this price point. I have genuinely had better box mac n cheese! The burger blatantly cooked from frozen. Also, the starter plate sat on the table until even after we were served our mains. The cocktails were poorly made as well… the gin and watermelon cocktail was not made correctly and tasted like straight up syrup. The elderflower and cucumber drink did not taste like elderflower at all and also didn’t have any cucumber in sight. I cannot believe I’ve just had to pay £86 for this kind of service. Would have been better off in...
