Wow! This cool, relaxed and tranquil cafe/restaurant is a real gem. My friends and I visited it for the first time last Sunday as our post Brighton Marathon treat and we are SO happy we did!
We were greeted by the friendliest cafe team with big smiley welcome and offered the inside or outside seating. We chose outside, which is a gorgeous covered garden area with fabulous Moroccan design elements.
The day menu has everything that you could want from full breakfasts to sandwiches, wraps and cakes...and more. We each chose the full English breakfast which was perfect in size and VERY tasty!
The owner (so super smiley and friendly!) served us our meals and told us about their evening offerings - Tagines, cous cous and cool vibes. We are sold! Cant wait to spend an evening at Bistro. Thank you team for looking after us at breakfast!

We stumbled across Mon which is in a really sweet location in the funky st james st area near kemptown.
As Mon is quite new word hadnt got around obviously and we managed to get a table.
The evening was wonderful, the hosts were lovely and friendly but the food.....! Some of the best food in a restaraunt that we have had in a long long time, and totally unexpected! The mix of great food, location and relaxed very french (to us anyway) atmosphere was spot on.
Really cannot recommend enough, you can see by how often we make a comment! Hardly ever- so this place really is very deserving-

Read moreStumble through the door of this quaint cafe not expecting anything more than a quick lunchtime sarnie. How wrong were we!! We decided to eat well as we knew a long night was ahead. I chose the moules marinere for starters and sea bass for main. Partner had calamari for starter and same main as mine. It was absolutely fantastic. Never had mussels before but it sounded delicious and it was, so much so we were back next day for mussels for main course. Sea bass was cooked to perfection with a fantastic lemon caper sauce. Highly recommended this little cafe. Staff very friendly too. It's a * From me. No photos too busy eating...
