Having seen the outstanding reviews, we were excited to give this place a go on our first night in York. With such high expectations, it was always going to be hard for this restaurant to live up to the hype, yet it did so with ease. Every single staff member was so warm and helpful, and our server was making us laugh and smile the whole time despite clearly being quite busy. The cocktails were delicious, and the staff informed us they were also 2 for 1 - we were happy to indulge! The hot and cold buffet to go alongside the meat selection was wonderful in itself; getting there so late on a Monday, I was concerned about the freshness of the buffet and selection of meats coming around but this wasn’t an issue in the slightest. The selection of meats was excellent, starting strong with fillet steak and circling through a great variety of meats and flavours that you wouldn’t normally get to try. The seasoning was incredible on every single offering. Going on a Monday, the meal was incredible value for the quality and volume; we paid a reduced rate due to it being a Monday but I would have felt the value was good even if I’d gone on a day where it was full price. I really loved the attentiveness of the staff at the end of the night, asking us if there was anything we particularly wanted to see for another round that we enjoyed most. Soon after, we were given a generous second helping of the delicious sweet pork belly and, one of my personal favourites from the night, cinnamon roasted pineapple (slightly unusual, but it was absolutely incredible!). It was hard not to come back here for night two of our break - we have already said that if we return to York we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Highly recommend this place to locals and tourists alike! Thanks so much for a...

What a Great and Authentic Brazilian Experience

First off, yes, the dinner prices aren’t cheap at £35 per head, plus a 10% optional service charge. While I personally think restaurants should incorporate this into the final price and increase wages, until that happens, I’ll most likely ask for it to be removed. However, on this occasion, I do think it was well deserved—the staff was excellent, and we were well looked after.

As someone who is Brazilian, I can say the side dishes tasted just like my grandmother and aunties used to make. The fried banana, rice, beans, and farofa (toasted cassava flour breadcrumbs) were all really good.

I highly recommend to anyone who has never been before: Do not fill up on sides!! It’s a rodízio (rotating BBQ) experience—just focus on the meat!

I skipped the chicken options, as we wouldn’t typically have much of it in Brazil, but if you love chicken, go for it. The chicken hearts are highly recommended—don’t be put off by the idea! (They did take a while to come around, though.) The grilled cinnamon-sugar pineapple was fantastic too—definitely save room for that at the end.

Meat Selection

All the cuts were great, cooked well, and super tender. The picanha (top sirloin cap) and pork belly were amazing. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the garlic bread, as it didn’t make its way around, but by the time it did, we were too full to eat another bite!

Drinks & Snacks

Make sure you order a Caipirinha if you want a cocktail, and for a soft drink, go for Guaraná. Also, order some Pão de Queijo (cheese bread) and Coxinha (Brazilian chicken croquettes) when you sit down—you won’t regret it!

Final Thoughts

Overall, a great experience....

Food was pretty decent and good amount .

What I didn't like is that from the moment I sat down until I left I felt harassed by staff to continuously order more drinks , if I want another drink , I'll order it .

The meat was okay, with only one exception which was the filet steak , which was really good , the rest of the meat was just okay .

Happy with the buffet / salad selection.

At the end I have been told that I have a 10% service charge, not sure what for , at the end I paid for food and drinks , and I have been provided those , what am I tipping for ? Don't they know that a tip is usually for someone going above and beyond for you, or making your experience more special etc. Not just providing you the service you're already paying for. What annoyed me is that after I politely refused to pay for tip , someone came to me asking me on ( what seemed to me ) an annoyed tone and rhetoric : " How was the service ? Was it good ? " , and I said yes , and he left . I used to be a waiter myself and I know the difference in between " bringing food and drinks to the table " and " extra service " . If you want a tip you have to work for it , make the customer feel special , do something extra .

Anyway, overall I would say for 35 pounds a head , the food was good and enough , but not amazing .

Note to restaurant staff : If a customer wants extra drinks, they'll let you know , you don't need to ask them 6 times . If you just bring food and drinks to a customer's table , that's not worthy of "...

My review may be slightly biased as I joined Casa Rodizio on a press re-launch evening, but everything was fantastic and I have heard good things since. We were kindly invited to the press relaunch event for newly refurbished Brazilian Steakhouse, Casa Rodizio based in York. It was a fantastic evening full of splendid food, TO DIE FOR MEAT, a buzzing atmosphere and Samba dancers. The cuts of meat we indulged in here were melt in the mouth, cooked to perfection and delicious. My fave was the Brazilian type of Rump as this was so juicy. The lamb was very delicious and melted in the mount, and the honey roast pork was amazing, quite sweet actually. The hot & cold buffet was out of this world with so much choice. Pasta and cheese everywhereeee.. The grilled pineapple smothered in cinnamon at the end was also to die for, for a sweet tooth like me, don’t miss out on this one. We didn’t try the seafood platter as I try to avoid seafood, but it did look very appetising. We enjoyed some welcome Bellinis, Brahma beers and Brazilian Caipirinhas. A fantastic evening had by all and it was great to see the restaurant so busy and everyone fully enjoying themselves.

Well my wife & I was visiting York & decided to eat here for an early dinner. Glad we did. It was £15 per head. This includes a massive unlimited salad, rice, bread & cold meats along with some speciality plates. It gets checked and replaced every so often as well which is good. Now the main event. Randomly a guy will walk round with a metal skewer loaded with a cut of meat. There was beef rump tail, flank, sirloin, spicy sausages and leg of Lamb. You have a disc, one side red saying NO MORE and the other green saying yes please whereby the waiter will slice off chunks to your liking. The meat starts of as just under medium rare but obviously through time, gets cooked slightly more. The meat is very well seasoned, full of flavour and juicy & tender. You get do much too sd it's unlimited. We tried a bit of everything and loved it. The price goes up to £25 in the evening understandably. The service was good, the restaurant clean and tidy. Nice selection of beers and wine. It got busy so I'd suggest booking in the evening. We will definitely visit again.
