If there's a long line of customers waiting to get into this establishment, then you know you're in for a treat. That said, I can comfortably say that Goemon Ramen Bar delivered in every facet. The service staff are impeccable. Not only are they polite and friendly, but they are ready and knowledgeable about the menu items. If you're new to Japanese food, you'll be in good hands. Just ask them if you need any pointers! Next up: the taste. Oh man, was the wait worth it! I ordered two pork baos and the chicken shoyu ramen. Tasty? Try again. It was out of this world! The food also came out speedily. So don't worry about needing to wait long for your food! After finishing my original order, I just had to see what else they could cook up. I ordered the pork gyozas, which came with its own savory umani sauce. Or rather, the sauce left you thinking "ooh mami" because it'll surely hit you with those childhood memories. I finished the evening with the green tea ice cream. A perfect end to this incredible taste of Japan in Brighton. I believe this establishment deserves more credit. It's clear that the food is made and delivered with care. Note, the portions are little small compared to mainstream competitors like Wagamamas, but its still definitely worth supporting. The price point is quite good for the quality of the food. I highly recommend you checking out Goemon Ramen Bar.

Goemon Ramen Bar is an absolute GEM, and is (by far) the best and most authentic Japanese food I've found in south England: with flavourful dishes, a varied and interesting menu, respectable prices, and a super amazing staff who are incredibly attentive and helpful. In fact, my only real concern of rating it so highly is that their small space will no longer have room for me when they get too busy! 🤩 ▬▬▬ BREAKDOWN ▬▬▬ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | FOOD ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | DRINKS ⭐⭐⭐⭐➖ | ATMOSPHERE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | SERVICE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | PRICE ▬▬▬ RECOMMENDATIONS ▬▬▬ Here's a few recommendations to help you get started at Goemon: ► NORI FRIES — They hit that perfect balance between flavor and crisp. They're a great side to go with any main dish. ► BAO BUNS — Oh yes; they're soft, fluffy, and the perfect vehicles for whatever you want ferried to your face! ► CHICKEN KARAAGE — A *delicious* choice for a main dish. ► RAMEN — The obvious cornerstone of their menu for good reason. Whatever flavour you choose, you'll absolutely leave with a happy face (and a happy soup-belly) by the end of your meal! ▬▬▬ FINAL THOUGHTS ▬▬▬ I cannot recommend this place more highly and make it a point to eat there often. So, to everyone: please go there often enough to keep the place thriving...just not when they need to save me a seat! ♥

There are a few places to eat ramen in Brighton, and being noodle addicted I've tried them all. Goemon wins hands down, I can't lie. Several Japanese families happily slurping away when we visited, which is always a good sign, plus my Japanese sister-in-law raves about it too, and with good reason. Starters are on point, from veggie gyoza with the most delicate crispy 'skirt' to super tasty Karaage (I had chicken, the flavour and dipping sauce both superb). The main event did not disappoint, Tokyo style tonkotsu with a savoury depth I haven't seen outside of one or two London places. Char siu pork, spicy pork mine, veggies, noodles all were perfect too. They do 3 sizes too and are super relaxed about supplying containers to take away what you can't finish. Prices are really keen, we spent £55 for two including a couple of drinks each. Have to highlight that on weekends they open at 1730, only staying open for 3 hours or so. No booking either, and the place is generally rammed before 6pm. We left just after 1830 and the queue was 15 long down the pavement outside (in February!!). Do your taste buds a favour and get slurping, we will be back soon with friends in tow!!

This noodle bar geniunely looks great. But I am writing this review to just ask them to please be a bit kinder.

I visited last night with my husband. I have a knee injury and was limping. Because of it, my husband dropped me off and went to park the car. I entered and saw there was one table downstairs. I asked if there was a table for two and they indicated that there was. But, I was asked to wait until the second person arrived. I didn't want to remain standing and said to them that he was literally coming from the car part around the corner. They repeated again to please wait until the second person arrived. I can understand this - they are busy so do not want to hold up a table, maybe? Note that there was no one else in line at this point.

Understanding, I said that I could order both meals right away and not wait for the second person, so they needn't worry. Again, they refused. This meant that I had to limp back outside and wait in the rain.

Just then, two guys entered. As they were both there, they got the table downstairs. I learned that I would now have to hobble upstairs to get a table. At which point, I left telling them to never mind as I was nervous to do this.

Bizzarely, when my husband came looking for me a few minutes later and described me, they told him they did not know whether I went upstairs or not.

I'm a relatively fit and healthy person who just had an injury but for someone geniunely disabled, this would have been very difficult. I recognise that small resturants need to control things carefully but a bit of flexibility and kindness would...
