I visited Las Iguanas Brighton today from London for a bottomless brunch and was really looking forward to the experience. We were greeted by a lovely blonde hostess who was warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Our initial server was also fantastic—friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, our experience took a turn for the worse when a different server took over, who I believe was named Charlie (he had a mullet).
From the moment Charlie took over, the service became noticeably colder. He seemed uninterested and dismissive from the start. Our brunch session was from 6:30–8:30, and at exactly 8:30—without us asking—Charlie brought the bill straight to our table while we were still enjoying our drinks. We hadn’t requested the bill, nor had we indicated we were ready to leave. Minutes later, he came back with the card machine, again unprompted, which felt incredibly abrupt and aggressive.
This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, like we were being kicked out the moment our session ended. It was embarrassing and made us feel unwelcome, as if we were being rushed out while others around us were being treated more respectfully. The table next to us, for example, had finished well before us and weren’t brought their bill or card machine until they asked for it. It really felt like we were being singled out and treated differently, and I honestly felt discriminated against.
I want to stress that the rest of the staff were amazing—especially the waiter wearing a cat shirt, who was super friendly and lovely. It’s just a real shame that one person’s attitude completely ruined what had started off as a fun evening.
I left feeling upset, disrespected, and like I wasn’t valued as a customer. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that steps are taken to ensure all guests are treated with the same level of...
Read moreMy family and I ( husband, mum,dad and my 3 month old) came to eat in at Brighton Las Iguanas around 9 pm for dinner. It is not our first visit and we've been to many other Las Iguanas before. We are asked about allergy and confirmed my husband only was allergic to red food colouring,E122. We were already sat at our table when the manager came to tell us he cannot let us have dinner because of the allergy as he couldn't check for the red food colouring. We've told him that it was fine as we will order what we usually have here but we were rudely refused. We even said that we will eat only and my husband would not but we were categorically refused. It stared to feel as it he wanted us out of the restaurant and us being the only brown people there and him shouting at us to leave was absolutely unacceptable and humiliating when we only wanted to eat. I understand the policies but I'd like to believe there is a level of politeness and customer service to deal with this situation in a better way. It was late at night and I had a baby in my arms with mum ans dad being old. He could have let us at least have a drink or choose things off the menu that made sense there would be no red food colouring like a salad, chips/ fries. It was only my husband who had the allergy and not the rest of us. But no we were asked to leave immediately as if we've committed a crime. This is absolutely revolting to be treated this way and I hope other customers do not experience the rude manners of this manager. We wanted to eat but we were refused. That's a first we've...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of experiencing the bottomless brunch at Las Iguanas and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience, largely thanks to the incredible service provided by Lisa. From the moment we walked in, Lisa made sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. Her energy and enthusiasm was contagious, making our brunch experience not just enjoyable but truly memorable.
Lisa went above and beyond to ensure our glasses were never empty and that we were enjoying ourselves. She had the perfect balance of attentiveness without being overbearing. Every time we needed something, she was right there with a smile, making us feel like we were her top priority. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely loves what they do and Lisa’s passion for hospitality shone through in every interaction.
While Lisa was undoubtedly the star of the show, I also want to give a shoutout to Matt, who helped out during our brunch. Although he wasn’t as present as Lisa, he did a good job of keeping things running smoothly. Matt was polite and efficient but it was clear that Lisa was the one leading the charge.
Overall, the bottomless brunch at Las Iguanas was a blast and Lisa made it an experience we won’t soon forget. If you’re lucky enough to have her as your server, you’re in for a treat! And of course, kudos to Matt for his contribution as well. I’ll definitely be back for another round and I’ll be hoping Lisa is there to make it...
