We felt it was quite overpriced. We were a table of 4 and wanted to share our starters. The starters were £8 each with only 4 items of each starter. Half of the plate was taken up with a random slice of orange and a herb of some kind. It felt quite lacklustre for the price. The starters were also quite small in size. We had the sweetcorn fritters which were lovely but they were so small for the price. The won tons were also unfortunately underwhelming as they were half filled and small. We also had the Thai fishcakes and duck spring rolls. The Thai fishcakes were also very small but the duck spring rolls were quite nice.
Our mains took at least 45 minutes to come out after our starters and we had to wait quite a while for our starters to come out initially too. My partner had the coconut rice which was presented very nicely but because it was served in half of a coconut, he very obviously had much less rice than the rest of us which was quite disappointing.
My partner also kept being given gluten free beer which was more expensive and he hadn't ordered it. Unfortunately, he didn't say anything at the time and our server, a gentleman, either didn't notice or they had run out of the non-gluten free beer and didn't say.
The door also was not working properly and we were sat on the table right by the door, so it was quite cold at times as it didn't shut properly. We often had to get up to close it as it hadn't been shut properly by those leaving. We did feel quite rushed and felt that other parties got better service than us unfortunately, such as sweets at the end of their meals. Perhaps because our party of people appeared young? We felt that we were treated differently to the other groups in the restaurant at the same time.
We most likely won't be returning but it was nice to support a new local business. Maybe the above issues are just teething problems, but perhaps something to address in future if they haven't been...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at our favourite local Thai restaurant, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. With a group of 13 of us booked in, it could have been a logistical challenge - but thanks to the amazing planning support from Kelly, everything went seamlessly. Her attention to detail and warm communication made organising the evening a breeze.
On the night, we were welcomed with the kind of hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. A huge shoutout to Anthony and his incredible team, who delivered fabulous service with such professionalism and friendliness. Every request was met with a smile, and the team made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening.
And the food… wow. Each dish was a celebration of flavour - vibrant, authentic, and beautifully presented. The food was truly next level.
Whether you’re planning a special gathering or just looking for an outstanding meal, this place is an absolute must-visit. Huge thanks again to Anthony, Kelly and the whole team - we’ll definitely...
Read moreMy first visit to JupJup and definitely won't be my last! If I could rate the freshness of their ingredients, I would give more than 5*. The Lobster Curry was so fresh! I could have emptied the whole plate if the shells were edible. Sticky rice was cooked perfectly, not too dry and not too mushy... I had that with the sauce from the lobster curry and it was heaven. But the crispy squid, Sweetcorn Cake and Pad Thai are MUST HAVEs. I would recommend asking for a bit of chilli oil to go with the Pad Thai if you also like spicy food though. I had the Mockito (Thai basil, lime and soda) to drink. It's so refreshing😎 I had too much too eat so I didn't have any desserts but I had a taste of my friends' mango sorbet and pineapple & coconut ice cream... wished I had a second stomach for those! Price wise, very reasonable, especially if you've been to other restaurants in Ludlow. This little restaurant is cosy and friendly. If you're looking for good food/ingredients for value, then this is a...
