Pete's Eats — Restaurant in Great Britain

I understand covid19 has created restrictions. This wasn't my issue. We were greeted at the door and shown to a seat facing a wall (understandable with social distancing in small venues). We had been told to take a seat and someone would be with us. After waiting about half an hour, and watching people being served around us who arrived after us, I decided to go to the counter. I was told again we would be served at our table. I said to the woman that was fine however we had been waiting some time. A good few minutes later a waitress approached and greeted us with "What do you want?". Other patrons were given forms for track and trace we weren't. Once the food arrived it was given to us abruptly and we were left. No offer of anything else such as more drinks or condiments (we had ordered hot drinks and they where now gone after the wait for food). The food, although fine, wasn't brilliant but we did get rather big portions for the price paid. My husband, however, found a fragment of metal in his rice. Unfortunately, due to the poor customer service already received, neither of us felt confident to approach a staff member to report the problem. By this point, we really just wanted to eat and go seeing as we had already paid before recieving our food. The atmosphere I would say is like a student union where customer service doesn't matter and food is tasty and affordable. I wouldn't rush back, nor would I recommend it to my friends. There are nicer places to eat in Llanberis for a similar price with better food and infinitely better service. Pete's Eats seems to value style over substance. The place lacks style. WARNING!!!!

I think you should give this place a wide berth, this isn’t just what I’m saying on this review, other people, judging by the previous reviews have witnessed the fact that the owner of Peres Eats is rude and should not be within 5 feet of hospitality trade! Also, the staff look like they had spent a night in the hedge by the lake, with grubby finger nails, I wouldn’t want them touching my food and the place is absolutely filthy!

Since this new owner took over, the place has gone totally down hill! I have always supported this cafe whenever I am in Llanberis, as to be totally honest, there aren’t too many good places to eat in this town and the town itself is totally run down and a former shadow of itself!

Ok, so here’s what happened! After the owner demanded I wore a mask, I politely explained that I was exempt from wearing a mask for medical reasons, he then proceeded to tell me that and I quote “ABSOLUTELY NO EXEMPTIONS IN HIS CAFE” and he didn’t want anyone like that in there! One minute people like him are crying that their businesses are struggling because of Covid, then in the next breath, they speak to people like they’ve just wiped them off their shoes!

Finally! Places like ‘Pete’s Eats’ think they are that entitled, because they once had a good name, people will just come and eat there no matter how you get treated, well, I’ve got news for Pete’s Eats, that...

Very nice and welcoming place with proper cup of tea :) The staff is welcoming and helpful, food is in the right budged and right size of the portion (after meal never goes hungry even on the way to the summit), the food will sort you out nicely after long walk to the mountains.

In cafe you can find home freshly made sandwiches to eat in or take out (good for pack lunch) very nice cakes (to eat in or take out for pack lunch) perfect cup of tea or coffee, nice selection of local bottled bears. What I like that on the wall is always freshly printed forecast for the Snowdon Summit for the whole current day, so you can have nice full breakfast - check the weather and go for adventure. So that was my main spot to have a breakfast, check forecast and start my day.

Would be nice if cafe would offer option of the pack lunch for some price - so you can pick 2-3 items to take with you.

Pizza night - very good pizza and the effort to decorate place made it cozy and nice - specially when it is wet and very windy outside. I just had come back from 20 mile walk and though pizza would be nice for end of the day.
