Sweetbox Desserts — Restaurant in Great Britain

Visited this place on a Wednesday during the eat out to help out scheme with 3 friends. It was busy and they had a social distancing system so the wait was understandable and I can’t fault that. However, this 1 star review is for the quality of desserts that they serve and the awkwardness of staff (Management in particular). The ice cream is very basic compared to the other dessert places such as Kaspas, Coco Gelato and Ice Cream Passion. It tastes like the cheap ice cream you buy from a corner shop etc. The waffles and cookie dough looked depressed and I didn’t envy my friends that ordered them. Unlike the rest of your desserts, your slushies are nice and you have a nice selection of sweets.

The staff were friendly but extremely awkward and were difficult to communicate with. They seemed to get confused very easily as well and do not possess basic customer service skills.

Kaspas is right across the road and they have better quality desserts so you are better off going there.

Also finally, the person that responds to the reviews clearly doesn’t understand how to take criticism . It is ok to not be better than your competitors, there’s no shame in that. Not everyone will be pleased with your food and service so you should just accept that and try and learn from their criticism. If you are given a 4 star review with one small criticism you should be pleased and not start ranting and confusing them with other people you clearly have issues with. Worst customer service ever!

I made an order online through uber eats and when it was delivered there was a milkshake missing. I called up to ask about it and got told there was no ice cream left to make the milkshake. They didn't call to let me know of this so I could order something else instead. I then get a call back a few minutes later saying they made my milkshake using the last of the ice cream but the delivery driver took it for herself. What a coincidence that the milkshake I ordered which was now out of stock was the one the driver decided to take (my order included 3 milkshakes). I didn't receive a single apology from them and then they decided to hang up on me instead because they couldn't explain themselves.

For the dessert that was delivered, the quality was terrible. Cookie dough was hard and cold and I've had better cookie dough from asda. milkshakes were really thin and the ice cream rolls had pieces of fudge in it that were like rock.

If you're looking for dessert, you've got kaspas across the road which is 10x better than this and many other dessert places on the same street that...

Being a dessert fanatic and a foodie, decided to buy cookie dough from Sweetbox. Ordered the double chocolate chip cookie dough which took around 25 minutes which was okay as the place was crowded with low staff levels. However, the excitement and wait went wasted as the cookie dough seemed like a biscuit with just a little sprinkle of chocolate sauce on top = It wasn't what it was supposed to be! I appreciate the woman in scarf and recall her telling the owner that the cookie dough is not being baked properly when it took such a wait and that it was a 'double chocolate chip cookie dough' when the chocolate sauce was being poured which infact relates that it was not served to perfection and it was disappointing that it was ignored. Customers should be served in the best way possible as they are the ones paying to keep the business alive! I like this place overall with the variety offered but this experience was disastrous.
