We have just had the most unprofessional experience in a pub I have ever had. Myself and my friend come here for lunch and a few drinks. One of my friends (who was not present) messaged me to say he had sent us a drink to the table. A cocktail pitcher arrived and we started drinking it. A manager come over and asked if we had a receipt for the pitcher. I said no however my friend messaged to say he was sending us a drink. It turns out this was not the drink he had sent us but someone had ordered a drink to the wrong table. The manager told us we need to pay for it or we were being chucked out. After clearly shown him the conversation of my friend asking for our table number to send us a drink (of which we did not know what he was sending) the manager still said this was our fault and we had to pay. Surly if a customer sent a drink to the wrong table that’s on them especially since I had proof of waiting for a random drink. After ordering 2 meals and 8 drinks which we paid for I feel this is bang out of order. Trying to punish us for something we really did not mean to do. Trying to say we “stole the drinks”. I ended up having to pay for the drinks which I find unacceptable. The manager in question really needs to go do some training. Definitely will not be coming back here ever...

Came for breakfast on 17/05/24 with my husband before a day trip. As usual there was a lot of messy tables but we found at least one tidy table. I ordered a traditional breakfast and one small vegetarian breakfast (which does not include toast), one Pepsi max, one tea and an extra toast. Wetherspoons pubs used to be pretty reasonable price wise but not any more! The cost of living has certainly pushed up the prices, this lot came to £16.83p.. I went to the self serve hot drink station which was also pretty messy to get my tea and returned to table 51 to await my order and I managed to finish the tea before it arrived as it was only lukewarm. The orders arrived and were underwhelming to say the least. The traditional breakfast included fried egg, hash brown, link sausage, bacon, beans and toast. It didn't look appetising at all and it was again tepid. The small vegetarian breakfast included hash brown, fried egg. Vegetarian link sausage and beans. It came with an unexpected extra, a slice of bacon which as I wasn't in the mood to argue about I passed to my husband. The warmest item on my plate was the vegetarian sausage which was actually pretty good actually. The extra toast tasted like melba toast, cold and dry and crumbly, not like real bread at...

Absolutely mobbed yesterday, barely any tables, although we expected that as town was busy and the hottest day of the year so far. We found a table eventually and quite happy as we didn't think we would have been so lucky. We ordered 3 meals and although offer came with added drink option, because we didn't say with drinks, we didn't get drinks. After food order was given, we asked to add drinks, the girl at bar said she couldn't add drinks, despite we hadn't paid yet💩, she could have added drinks. Food wasn't that great to be honest, I went to 3 condiment stations for salt and couldn't find any, when I asked a staff member I was told to try yet another station and didn't find any. I took my daughter to the ladies and when we reached top of stairs (on way out of toilet) there is a door at the top stair on the left hand side: the smell of cigarette smoke was disgusting. I felt as though I had smoked 20 fags one after another. A few weeks later I tried going for food one more time and won't be back. The food was barley warm and tasted crap, again condiment stations empty and flies yes, loads of flies landing on our table and surrounding tables, final straw when one landed...

"If there's one thing that this chain establishment can be relied upon for, I'd say that would be its continuity. This is especially the case with Weatherspoons. Often I hear people making statements which I can only assume must stem from our over-dependency on constantly making a value comparisons between quality and price, yet simultaneously harbouring a love for bargains. To me, the Weatherspoons chain provides a certain assurance which, in return, allows me to adopt a prudent overview of my budget expectations. The Counting House would make the perfect flagship of exactly what one would come to expect from the brand, i.e., hygiene, quality, taste, portion size, value, service, speed, and delivery. Coupled with the comfort of its atmospheric success in terms of location, seating capacity, and fellow diners, it yet maintains the nuance the brand injects into its local and historic culture." As assuring as the highlights of our trips make them memorable, it's the everyday events that facilitate their success.

Absolutely disgusted today. Went for a quick lunch with my family, there was flies everywhere all over the tables, flying around our food and drinks which put us off eating our meal. Mentioned to a staff member that wasn't too fussed. Just said sorry about that. Another waitress came over with our drinks and spilled the pint over the table and seats didn't bother cleaning it up, I had to clean it all with our napkins. So disappointed. Stacks of dirty glasses piled high, tables not cleaned. Great cocktails, food is ok- you get what you pay for. This is extremely busy at weekends, no music playing but it is very loud with all the talking and people talking over eachother. During the week it can be busy but easy enough to get a table for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks with friends. As with most Wetherspoons the toilets are down stairs and is a bit of a pain to get to. Would not recommend this place to anyone after that experience. Disgusting isn't the word.

A disproportionally big venue without enough staff Not easy to get your order Arrived on a Sunday morning 11 am with hunger, tried to approach the till to make food order but did not get much attention and went for mobile ordering instead (bonus point for this) Table that needs cleaning As seen in the picture, the used mugs are piling up on the table. And the table itself is sticky and covered with breadcrumbs. Coffee machine lacks maintenance Long queue in front of the coffee machine because only 2 out of 4 are working. Even though it’s very simple issue with milk/coffee beans replenishment. Food taking ages to arrive Waited 48 mins before our food arrived, and my hash brown is missing from the breakfast meal. Toilets are not functioning One hand dryer is not working, one tap is just broken. Hygiene overall is looking ok. Conclusion: would not recommend if you are very hungry on a Sunday morning. Be prepared to leave with anger and disappointment.
