Moldy, Expired Pita Bread. I’ve been to this place a couple of times before and my experience had previously been very good. Lovely staff, delicious food. However, I’m pretty sure that yesterday the pita bread I was served with my £5,60 hummus dish was moldy. After taking a bite of the bread and realising it tastes absolutely horrible and sour I flipped it over to find the other side completely covered in white patches. Giving it the benefit of the doubt I assumed it was flour at first, but under further inspection I can see that it was definitely mold. This is because aside from the flavour issue it also had a foul smell and the patches had dark brownish circles under them which were nestled deep inside the bread. Moreover, this was the only piece of pita with these characteristics as the others appeared fine (although they were also quite dry and stale). To be fair, I didn’t tell any restaurant staff about this issue as I don’t like confrontation and this meal had already put me off from eating further so I didn’t see a point in asking for a replacement. Now I see that it was probably a good idea to say something in order to prevent this from happening again, which is why I’m writing this review. I think a restaurant of this standard and price rage should put better care in ensuring the food they serve to customers isn’t expired and old. I apologise for the long rant and please note that I don’t mean harm to this establishment, I just thought they should know that this happened for future reference. Take care and many thanks.

It was awful. Long wait 1hr between tinny starters and main courses. Needed to remind them. Staff were nice but the quality of the food was an insult to the Greek. Calamari were chewey, not fresh. Greek salad w no dressing. The main courses were just for reheating. I really don't understand what took them an hr to serve ? The fried cheese smelled rotten. Too much unexpected herbs in the meatballs and got all rejected by my kids. In fact, they were not hot as if they were recycled from another reject. The waiting staff were too keen to recommend alcohol so as to cover the delay in service and poor quality food. Very disappointed. Will never go again and strongly recommend to avoid. Reply : please understand that if main courses arrived an hr after starter that means my kids have been waiting for 1.5hrs+ for their dinner. The reason why I said the meatballs tasted like recycled is because apparently the spaghetti was hot but when I bit in the meatballs, they were not hot and cold inside. And FYI I have been to Greek and Crete more than twice, even home stayed w Greek family, so I know what home taste is like. Thank you.

This was without doubt the best meal out I've had in a while. Everything was delicious. We had bread & olives with oil and balsamic dip which was complimentary. These were the best olives I've had. Not overly bitter and really tasty. We ordered the Taramosalata (seafood dip) and the Melitzanosalata (smoked aubergine dip) which came with fresh baked pitta bread. Both dips were really fresh and tasted amazing. I also was going to order the Grilled Haloumi Cheese, however our server Dimitri recommended the Kefalotyri ( Cretan Cheese, lightly fried) and he was right... bloody delicious!! So if you go its definitely worth the extra £1.25 For mains we had chicken breast from the grill and Pork chop on the bone. Both with chips and salad. The food was absolutely fantastic. A really lovely restaurant with an authentic Greek look and feel to it. Dimitri was lovely and service was great. The cost of the bill was also reasonable for the portion size of what we had. Will definitely be back.

Nestled in the vibrant streets of Glasgow lies a culinary gem that has left me enchanted and eager for more -Elia Greek restaurant. As a devout vegetarian, my journey through their menu was an exquisite revelation of flavours and hospitality that surpassed all expectations.

From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in a warm embrace of Greek hospitality. The staff's genuine passion for their cuisine was evident in every detail, from their attentive service to their eagerness to share insights into the dishes.

Now, let's talk about the food - a symphony of flavours that danced on my palate with each bite. As a vegetarian, I often find myself limited in choices at restaurants, but here, I was spoiled for choice. The array of vegetarian options was not only impressive but downright tantalizing.

The freshness of the ingredients shone through in each dish, while the skillful execution elevated them to culinary perfection.

Beyond the exceptional food, the hospitality extended by the staff deserves special mention. Their warmth and attentiveness made me feel like an honoured guest, and I left with not just a satisfied appetite but also a heart warmed by their hospitality.

In conclusion, this Greek restaurant in Glasgow is a true treasure for vegetarians and food enthusiasts alike. Whether you're seeking a delightful meal or a memorable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend immersing yourself in the culinary delights and warm hospitality that...

I could not recommend coming here.

I came with my friend for dinner here tonight, it looked promising and my friend said he had been here before and was very forthcoming about the portions of food you get relative to the price. The prices really took me to expect that the portions of food would match the prices.

Unfortunately we were both disappointed to see that for what we payed for, the portions were well under expectations, starter sizes. I ordered the Lamb souvlaki while my friend ordered the mixed grill. My friend mentioned to me while we were puzzled by the entree sized portions that the size were double last year according to his memory.

I got a miserable plate of five bite sized portions of lamb for the 'low, low price' of £17! With 7 pieces of potato and an undressed pile of leaves as a salad on the side. Also a 'cheap' pint of Coke for £4.50!!

I usually expect Greek restaurants for being generous, being a Melburnian, a city with over half a million Greek Australians, the restaurants there just serve you with massive portions, same as the Greek restaurants in Berlin!

If you enjoy being ripped off, by all means come to this restaurant. 5 stars for the grift guys!

I am sorry guys, but because I left hungry and felt completely ripped off, I had to give you a bad review, and I am the guy who usually...
