28.08.2025 Booked for a table of 4 at 7:30pm as there wasn’t any earlier tables due to it being booked, however we walked in to find about 4 people inside. There is absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant whatsoever. I have never drank such a bad pornstar martini ever it was like cough medicine at best, luckily I had ordered a soft drink as well. We then ordered what sounded like freshly made chicken goujons as a starter which most definitely turned out to be the total opposite, they are pre made / out of a packet. The mains we then ordered 1x pie & mash, 1x veg sausage & mash, 1x mushroom tagliatelle & 1x gammon, egg & chips. Everything arrived but the gammon. In the mean time 3 of us had started eating & as time passed we could see the panic from the staff that something was wrong but hesitated to come over, They then finally came over to say the gammon hadn’t been placed through on the order & told us it would be a 30 minute wait “how ridiculous”. No apologies for the mistake or to see if we would like a drink to make up for the mistake. We had got half way through our meals by the time a new meal was set down to order which was then settled to be a plain burger. Which when arrived we had all finished eating. The burger was also dry & tasteless. The mushroom tagliatelle was really starchy & had more oil swimming in it than a greasy pizza. No one even came to see if the food was okay & no one bothered to see if we wanted another drink at any point. It then came to pay. There was still not a single apology on any of the mistakes made. Then we got charged a bill of about £120 for rubbish service & awful food. This place could do with a good turn around. I would give this restaurant half a star at a push but unfortunately the lowest you can go on a...

My partner and I started coming to Weymouth the year before the pandemic started and we always made sure that we visited Nanna Moon's. We were absolutely gutted when we read that they'd closed, as we loved sitting outside on the benches sampling their fab selection of ciders and eating their delicious food. We hadn't been able to get to Weymouth for a couple of years and spontaneously decided last weekend to go and thought we'd give the Mariner's a try to see if they were a patch on Nanna Moon's. Imagine our utter delight, when we walked in and found that it was the same owners, same food, but slightly less varieties of cider (only 30 🤣)! We ended up eating and drinking there Friday afternoon, Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday lunch for their amazing roast! We certainly made up for the lost time! 🤣 We had so much fun and laughter over the weekend with Michelle, Lynton, Luca, their regulars and other tourists. I know it sounds corny, but we arrived as strangers and left as friends. If you like good food and drink and a welcoming atmosphere, then give the Mariner's a go rather than paying nearly double the price at some establishments on the opposite side of the harbour! See you soon...

On a bustling Sunday evening, after spending some time exploring Weymouth without a dinner reservation, we found ourselves turned away from numerous restaurants. Our luck changed when we stumbled upon The Mariners Bar & Kitchen. Despite the late hour and the busy crowd, the host greeted us warmly and accommodated us, allowing us to enjoy a meal and a drink.

The ambiance of The Mariners Bar & Kitchen is charmingly picturesque, contributing to a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a selection of sandwiches and a few other dishes. We opted for the scampi and chips and the mussels. While the food was decent, it lacked distinctive flavors. The scampi and chips were adequately cooked, and the mussels were fresh, but neither dish stood out in terms of taste.

Dessert, unfortunately, did not redeem the meal. The options we tried were dry and lacked the taste and texture of homemade desserts, falling short of our expectations.

In summary, The Mariners Bar & Kitchen benefits from a delightful setting and exceptional hospitality. However, the culinary experience needs refinement. With improvements in flavor and quality, it has the potential to be a standout spot in Weymouth’s...

Great homemade food (the steak pie was amazing), pleasant service and fair price. Dog friendly. One point, maybe staff could ask customers not to play their own audio on speaker, it's distracting (the guy at the next table was watching QVC on his phone, it lowered the tone of the place).
