The Corner Cafe — Restaurant in Hinckley and Bosworth

Mixed reviews for this place as for a breakfast it’s my go to! But my issue is service. The customer is never right in this case. I went in today with my daughter, friend and her daughter. I ordered an egg mayo cob (which I thought was on the menu under egg or salad cob) for my daughter and was told no problem they would make some up for her, fab! However the rest of our food came out well before, she had to sit and watch/ steal bites from us and when I’d actually finished my meal without hers coming out I did make a complaint. The owner was fairly aggressive in response, informing me it was my fault for ordering something they didn’t have pre-made so was made to order. This of course is understandable, I’ve worked in the industry myself since leaving school. However I also know it’s customary to bring a tables food out as close together as possible, definitely not having some members of the table finish if not half way through their meal before one has even come out of the kitchen. I wouldn’t be leaving a review if I hadn’t been responded to in such an aggressive manner, no apologies made, could have been simply solved by offering her a pack of crisps or something. It is what it is, a town institution, now moved from where it was to across the road and much bigger. I've rated it high because you know what you're getting and it's consistent.

It's a traditional breakfast, about 9 quid for the priciest one and comes with bread or toast and a brew. I swap the chips for hashbrowns if its before 12pm. The sausages are not fancy ones, but your standard ones and do the job for the price.

If you moan about the Corner Cafe then you're probably in the wrong place and should head somewhere else for quinoa, avocado or some other such fancy dish to stick on your instagram with your relevant hashtags.

Me, I'll stick to being a fatty, eat some honest food here and likely keel over at some point, so probably best not listen to me!

The cafe provided a delightful experience with its commendable service and promptness. The staff was exceptionally quick and accommodating, ensuring a seamless dining experience. From the moment we walked in, they were attentive and efficient, taking our orders promptly and serving our food with a smile. I was able to work there too as they had wifi.

However, while the service was top-notch, the cleanliness could use a bit more attention. Although not overly dirty, some areas seemed a tad neglected.
