88 Noodle Bar — Restaurant in Kirklees

This is the 3rd time I’ve been here and I know that I am definitely not coming back. I usually go to a different restaurant but in 2 of the occasions our regular place was shut. I wouldn’t say they are racist but definitely a bit stereotypical with white people. Each time I’ve been here I was handed straight away a spoon and a fork and I had to ask for chopsticks. I like to eat with chopsticks because i think that food tastes better when you eat it with the cutlery that was originated for. And I have respect for the culture. So that put me off a little bit. But I said nevermind, let’s continue. The food was bland , no spices, no chilli, no pepper, nothing really that you would find in Chinese cuisine. The only reason I am leaving this review is because later on after we started eating, a Chinese couple came in, they were handed different menus. Now I don’t think I would have understood their menus anyway because it was written in chinese, maybe they were the same dishes that were in the menus that were handed to us but one thing I noticed: when their food came to the table, it looked like proper proper authentic chinese food like I had in many other restaurants. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS CHINESE Rude staff & shocking delivery.

The manager was rude and unhelpful. I waited 2 hours for a delivery with a hungry family and they cancelled the order because the driver said they were unable to get directions. I received a call from the driver, then had to make 3 further calls to get an update on delivery time. The manager at the shop didn't let me speak and kept talking over me telling me it would be there without actually asking which order it was for. Rude on the phone and didn't apologise for making me wait 2 hours and then not delivering. Will never order from this place again! Ive also made a formal complaint...

This Restaurant is very friendly, if you understand some Chinese. Staff open to conversation and there is a wide variety of menu. Chef are open to customer requests. Despite microwave on display, it was not used during my time there (was there for 1 hour).

Food is good with a variety of flavour, different to Western food. If I were to rate the food out of 10 it would be a 9.1.

Has nice decor look and has photos of their genuine food on their own menu. For those wanting bubble tea, it's better if you go somewhere else, if you can't wait a few extra minutes,because the tapioca is prepared fresh. This place is solid and I'm happy to...
