I’ve just read some of the reviews about this place , we found it just by luck , was considering McDonald’s, but there were tables outside the church , so I nipped down and we sat inside, I’ll admit we carried the pram down the stairs but a children’s menu and high chair was provided. We had been swimming and it was our first visit to the town centre . This is my honest opinion , the restaurant was very quirky and clean , I liked how you could see into the kitchen, the staff were well presented and professional and very friendly, the food was wonderful, I had salmon salad, my wife had hot beef sandwich and my son had the children’s afternoon tea , we split the food with my 1 year old daughter in the high chair . We had a cake for pudding and drinks .

Service was very fast and professional, the food was lovely( beats McDonald’s) my only mistake was not having any change to leave a tip , I did ask if I could overpay somehow, but the lady said see you again and found us two free cake coupons. The price was very reasonable for the amount and service we had .

I don’t normally write reviews, but was disappointed to read some of these negative ones after we had such a...

Never known anything like it, we went on a trip to York organised by the Keys manageme nt, we had a nice breakfast, a little organised chaos with over a hundred people queuing for the self serve breakfast, which once we managed to get ours the food was very good, Very little room to move between tables with waiters and waitresses bumping into our chairs regular. Once we got back from York Xmas Market it was time for our 2 course evening meal which was chicken, nothing fancy but OK, we were table 20 and last one one to be served, during my meal I came across a long blonde hair on my green beans and then another on my deep fried potatoes, I mentioned this to the young Manager who just said ooh ahh mmm, I called him over 20 mins later and asked if anything had been done about the hairs and he just said he had told waiters and Waitresses but not the boss (owner) and people around us on other tables told us they are worried about telling the boss.!! The young Manager offered me a free bottle of flat beer as compensation in his words. I told him compensation wasn't what I wanted, a simple apology would have been Suffice. It looked to me that the staff were ruled by a...

After going to the keys each time we travel to Huddersfield and really always looking forward to it my friend and I went yesterday we were disappointed we did ask if it had changed hands has it didn't seem the same but we were told no. We have always had a a hot meal but neither of us could find anything we fancied so I settled for a hot beef sandwich asked if it came with gravy on and the waitress said no which was fine as I don't like gravy on a sandwich my friend decided on a chicken and stuffing sandwich , mine arrived with gravy on which was told that's how it came after saying I had asked and was told I could have it without waitress took it away, my friends sandwich was served on poor quality bread stuffing was frozen and chicken was cut in large chunks worse sandwich we have ever seen, I finally got my beef sandwich which was ok but it was served just a muffin and chips looked like they had been thrown on the plate was awful lady who seem to be in charge said they had had a bad day and the chef was new all I can say is get rid of him very disappointing. Will not be...

Had a shared afternoon tea that was pre booked. The waitress tried very hard to upsell at least 3 more options to what we ordered which I found embarrassing as one of the party was being gifted this treat. The next embarrassing moment came when the clotted cream was all used up by one person when only one small pot is included on the platter for 2 people, we all expected a pot each as it was easily used up on one scone. You did get a jam pot each.. For £25 for 2 it was ok but for the sake of another pot of clotted cream and a proper pot of tea rather than a half filled glass of earl grey ( don't know why they thought that was a good way to serve it?, Once the teabag was removed I only had half the amount left to drink and I wasn't offered anymore.

A real hidden gem! The atmosphere is lovely, situated in the crypts below Huddersfield Parish Church creates a cozy space for a relaxed brunch. There is also seating outside with great views of the church itself. The food was gorgeous, and reasonably priced for a luxury experience. There's a great range of food suitable for any meal, breakfast, brunch, lunch, even afternoon tea! They also have a little food shop in the entrance with local brands of sweets, biscuits and various jams and sauces.

We booked for afternoon tea which was delicious and plentiful. All the finger sandwiches were freshly made and the little cups of delicious soup were piping hot. All finished off with cakes, scones and other sweet items. We couldn't manage to eat it all so it was boxed up for us to bring home. There was an offer on their FB page .....All this for £16.95. This was not our 1st visit to the Keys and I have to say they serve fabulous food and have great staff x
