Brilliant cafe space which forms the centre of Hive CICs wider activities. The cafe has a range of different foods, including amazing vegan choices courtesy of the amazing Alex, formerly of Peppercorn. This week, they had vegan blue cheese toasties with spinach and sauteed mushrooms, which were wonderful, and different specials every day including Three bean chilli served with salad and brown rice. It's a great space, warm and comfortable, which tempts you to stay longer!
Alex is a formidable chef - if you are curious about vegan alternatives, do come and try the menu; you won't regret it. If you are reluctant to try vegan, they do have some veggie menu items including cheese (I think they had Brie and cranberry). For drinks they have vegan milks but also semi skimmed milk and skimmed milk. The coffee is lovely, and they have take out cups.
Hive is home to various groups, including an LGBTQ youth group and a dementia group among others. The cafe raises money for these. Brilliant food for a great cause - what more...

I am always tempted by the cakes which have been without fault each time - great variation in choice available each day. I am usually put off by cakes in cafes as they can be stodgy or dry if they've been left out all day in the air but Hive maintains a good stock of fresh options. Always made to feel very welcome and greeted with a smile. At times it can feel a bit hectic when they are busy. Loads of great vegan and vegetarian options. Looks like they have a lot of community-spirited...

Came in today bought a drink to eat my lunch with and this Woman came up to me telling me I wasnāt allowed to eat it because itās a vegan cafe.
There wasnāt any indication to this nor did it have a sign out front stating āin house food onlyā
I understand veganism and respect it, but the whole interaction made me down my drink and leave immediately because i felt looked down upon for my choice of food preference.
advertisement saying an āall inclusive environmentā felt very misleading and...
