Decent range of ales and the bar staff were helpful / pleasant, that's where the good part ends however.
We went for food here and 2 of the 4 meals were inedible. One of these (burgers) was stone cold and had obviously been microwaved, the other was a rubbery greasy mess. Although they looked really good these were literally some of the worst burgers I've ever encountered. The cold burger was sent back for a full refund.
I wouldn't even consider eating here again. Awful food, which suspiciously turned up in ~3 minutes flat.
The pub itself could desperately do with a bit of renovation, which is a shame as it has an interesting location and plenty of potential. The eatery sections backs directly onto the train platform.
Inexcusable and the last straw with me was the terrible state of the toilets. They'd visibly not been cleaned for a long time and had a terrible and immediately noticeable stench. The whole toilet area was covered in urine and there was no soap in the soap dispensers.

Well that says it all. Hello… people have been working hard and just want a pint. Personally I ended up here after being pissed about by Northern Rail which turned a 32 min round trip into 3h 20m, so you can imagine my delight to come across this little oasis, where I can enjoy a beautiful beer in the sun, whilst waiting for my bloody replacement bus service. Thanks Head of Steam, and to the gentleman behind the bar who seemed as interested in beer as...
