Visited midday on a Thursday. Very quiet with few customers but great beers. Theakstons landlord. Mmmmm Before we left we saw the pies being delivered. Couple of hours later we returned for the beer which had been our favourite of the day. The bar was filling up with friendly locals and we noticed information boards displaying future events, northern soul and such like. They say its bouncing in here some days and zi can well believe it. Prices were good. Read moreIt was the 1 st time I'd visited this place and it won't be the last ! The building is attached to the railway station and I'm guessing it was originally a waiting room. Its now a beautiful bar with log burning fire and original tiled floor. The old wooden tables, chairs and bench's fit perfectly in this room and add authenticity to the place. There's a great if small selection of beers and wines and spirits which the bar man had an excellent knowledge of. We didn't have time to have a meal but the menu of traditional food made our mouth water. We will definitely return to try it out as soon...
