I have come to panini shack tons of times during university, but yesterday morning the lady with black hair working at the counter just topped it off. I always thought she is a rude person, all she does is chitchatting with colleagues in the kitchen. Clearly her priority ain't customers as she ensures that she's finished with her conversation before serving a customer. If there is no line, she plays by eyes, she decides who's first, like yesterday I came in before another lady and clearly because she was too much focused on chitchatting that she didn't know who's first, second. So she decided to serve the first one to her left. I didn't say a word. After that she looked at me and I said can I have the same as the lady, she said fine but she didn't let me pay. She run back to the kitchen chitchatting. After a couple of minutes she came out and said are you waiting for something? I'm like yes I HAVE ASKED YOU for a tuna panini and she was YOU HAVE ASKED ME? yes my love what am I here for to waste my time just to look at you? She was too busy chitchatting so that she forgot my order. She then said so you want to pay? Clearly I do if you want to serve me rather than chitchatting non sense back to the kitchen team. No excuse accepted, she has always been this rude and ignorant, literally you could do without her. If I pass by and she is working I won't be ordering no more, I am sick of people not wanting to work. Customer service non existent...
Read moreBeen coming to Panini Shack for years, convenient location if you’re in Huddersfield town centre. Food quality is always good and consistent with a wide variety of panini fillings to pastries and desserts to choose from.
However, I visited today and unfortunately experienced really standoffish and bad customer service from the blonde female server on the counter. I found her to be difficult over what should have been a simple transaction. I was told my item was £4.00 which was different to the price that was labelled on the hot counter and I said that was fine. I then presented my loyalty card and indicated that was to redeem a stamp for my transaction. She then started to serve other customers mid service and then asked what the card was for in an abrupt manner, I explained to her again.
Apparently the loyalty card can now only be used for transactions for £4.00 or over, which I was eligible for (this was expressed to me word of mouth by the server, there was no sign to suggest this). In the end I really couldn’t be bothered to spend any longer conversing with her than I had to and just left. I felt as though she was being petty not accepting my card. I understand that this is usually under the managers discretion, however it felt personal on her part.
I really do hope this was a one off encounter. Other than that the other staff members are always friendly...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer at this location for quite some time and I absolutely love their products especially the chicken panini they offer. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue during my visits lately. Despite arriving around 10 or 10:30 AM on Saturday, I’ve found that many of the items I usually enjoy are out of stock, saying they’ll be ready in 5 minutes. This often results in unnecessary waiting times for customers.
I would kindly recommend that the staff ensure items are freshly prepared and available at all times especially during peak hours, to avoid inconveniencing customers. It would greatly enhance the experience if they could maintain a consistent stock of popular items.
