Myself and my Sister in Law visited the Vulcan for lunch again yesterday and it was just fab! As always. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we we're there for over 6 hours. Lovely welcoming staff that can't do enough for you and are so friendly. Absolutely gorgeous, tasty, home cooked food, at a very, very reasonable price of £7 for a roast dinner with all the trimmings and lots of gorgeous gravy. The food here has never changed over the years and is always consistently tasty and delicious. The Pino Griogio is very reasonable and a lot cheaper than other places at £10.50 a bottle and very good quality. Lovely atmosphere and such a good old proper pub full of locals. Read moreAfter been unable to get tickets for play offs we decided to still make a day of it and after googling some pubs we decided on The Vulcan and so glad that we did. Short walk from train station and several tv's to watch sky sports. Within a short time we felt like one of the locals. Regulars were coming up and shaking our hands and introducing themselves and the wonderful bar staff really made us feel comfortable.
