Hogarths — Restaurant in Lancaster

I'm all for a dress code, it adds class. Although it was 23°c, I was wearing shorts and was turned away. I don't particularly think I looked scruffy, I was just wearing shorts on one of the few warm days we get in this country.

If anything I was most upset by the fact the workers, some of which were wearing shorts, didn't let me in because I was wearing shorts.

Always liked this Lancaster Hogarth's, And the one in Preston too, The latter alas, only had one cask ale last Wednesday, at a pricey £2.75, and a hideous karaoke, that served as a fire alarm to me, They can't sing, But they do, Eh? Why? ! So across the road to Wetherspoons,a quid cheaper, and 8 to choose from, The Lancaster Hogarth's had 3 casks at about 40p cheaper than Preston Hogarth's. Good service...

The place itself is ok, but not really my cuppa tea decor/atmosphere wise. The toilets were filthy and staff not very attentive. Too busy planning their night out. That said I'd give it benefit of the doubt as it was packed and when the staff finally stopped gabbing to each other made a great cocktail. I prob won't be a frequent visitor, but given how busy it was it obviously...
