Sandwiches in this place are very nice and I have been going for many years now. They have a good system in place to serve customers fast, despite it’s quite busy. Where there is real room for improvement though, is in the way some of the staff treat customers who wear facemasks. For example, a couple of weeks ago I received some sarcastic comments about the fact that I was wearing one, which felt very out of place and unprofessional. For comparison, if they thought I am wearing it because of my beliefs, how awful would it be to comment on my attire if I was wearing a Christian cross or a skirt to short for their liking? Also, if I am wearing it as a health choice, how weird would it be for staff to mock customers who get vegetarian sandwiches because they think it’s healthier? Lastly, it really is a shame that a place with such good products has some staff that is so unsympathetic to other people’s disabilities. At this day and age many people (and their loved ones) still need shielding from covid because they are receiving cancer treatment or are waiting for surgery or a transplant. Others need to be extra cautious because they have auto-immune illnesses, diabetes, obesity, HIV, asthma, or any other invisible illness. Usually, people in public facing roles tends to remember this and be less judgemental. It would be great to not be given the cold shoulder every time I walk in to buy a sandwich just because I am wearing...
Read moreWorst customer service and overrated food.
Visited here for the first time on the 25th July, ordered 3 sandwiches and a bottle of water. There was a man standing behind the counter who looked to be around 50-60 with grey hair, when we took our sandwiches to the counter, he was just staring at us with a foul look on his face, he then punched in some numbers into the card machine and turned the card machine towards me, I asked if the sandwiches could be toasted, he didn’t utter a word, just handed them to the young employee behind him.
This is single handedly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, the man did not utter ONE word to us in the entire interaction, and looked disgusted by us (we are Asian if that was his issue - not sure?). I left feeling annoyed that we had given this business our money. And to top it off, the sandwiches (chicken and avocado) were so dry we did not even eat them, who on earth makes a sandwich and doesn’t butter the bread or put some kind of dressing in there, dry chicken, with some avocado between...
Read moreUse this place pretty much every day. They have a good selection of sandwiches. And all the coffees. The only problem is you must try to get in when the students are in at the same time as it can get absolutely jam-packed. The main guy was in there every day the one who does the coffees and seems to be in charge. Is not the best at conversation and always seems a little bit on the miserable side. But the other members of staff the females who work the tills. Are always smiling and polite? Not to mention, very good looking. When you get a coffee from there. Are something like a mocha? They do the fancy cream stuff that spells out the numbers 164 for on the top of your frothy Coffee Which I think is a nice touch. As mentioned you get plenty of students in there and also at dinner time or first break of the day it can get quite full of workmen from over the road. They also sell pizzas. That you can buy cold or they will warm them up for you. You same as the sandwiches. Definitely a nice place for a...
