Been wanting to visit here for some time, finally made it and it does not disappoint. Very busy, extremely popular (for good reason), and dog friendly too. I was fortunate and managed to get a table early afternoon on a Saturday, but quite a few folk had to be turned away as no tables free. Young, efficient and very friendly, charming team work here. The menu changes every day, so you need to check their website in order to see what to order - there are no printed menus on the tables for this reason. Lots of innovative choices for vegetarians and vegans and gluten free options available as well. I had a rhubarb kombucha and was slightly disappointed that it was a bottled one, had expected it to have been homemade. That minor point aside, I found the food and service to be outstanding. The mixed greens with sunflower crunch was tasty, though it took some chomping through. Now then.... the smashed potatoes... d.i.v.i.n.e!!! Good portion. Smashed Maris Bard spuddies with garlic salt and gochujang mayo. Most excellent and so, so moreish. I toyed with the notion of treacle tart for pud, but was slightly hesitant due to its £7.50 price tag. The table next to me ordered one. I did order it in a moment of spontaneity and, oh my word, I am so glad that I did. Supremely marvelous, out of this world delicious. Worth visiting Leeds for that alone. Tasty as, melt in the mouth, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Treacle tart, crystallised ginger and vegan cardamom custard. Oh, folks, if this is on the menu when you visit, you must try it. I can still taste it now. I'd like one of these every day!! Quelle pigess, heh heh. Has products for sale too. 10 stars easy peasy. Utterly highly recommended. Brilliant. Definitely...
Read moreI love this place, the food is great, the atmosphere is great, the music is great, the staff are great... you get the picture!
I have complicated dietary requirements and they've always been great at catering to them, they have multiple gluten free, vegan & vegetarian options as standard, but they're also willing to help you figure out a meal you can eat if your dietary requirements go beyond that.
It's also a place I feel comfortable bringing my kids (but it's also not the kind of place that is overrun with kids!). And they have board games if you need something to keep everyone entertained.
It's a very chilled out laid back kind of place, but with a really high standard of food and drink. The menu is short but well thought out, with something for everyone (my youngest is super picky but there's always something she's willing to eat - she really liked the smashed potatoes!). The drinks menu is interesting, with lots of things you might not find in other places, but, again, something to keep most people happy!
In addition to all this, you can also pick up some groceries while...
Read moreMuch more than pretty pictures. Found these folks on Instagram of all places. They seemed to have a good ethos and I liked the cut of their jib. Popped in recently for Saturday brunch and my of my what a delight. Perfect for the vegan, veggie, omnivore mixed group. A short but perfectly balanced food offering, it seems they decided to serve dishes they believe in rather than "play to the masses" and offer everything. Sign of a good kitchen is a short menu, it means it's freshly made and most likely made with skill. Beautiful bubble & squeek, all vegan and all gone. Coffee from "Girls who grind" yup, the all female crew with impeccable branding artwork to match their coffee. A very calming spacious atmosphere formed around the central bar, with plenty of plants and light to make it all come together. Friendly attentive service mixed with realistic pricing. These are the kind of restaurant ventures I love to see and deeply hope remain. 100% that I'll be back next time...
