Visited this establishment yesterday afternoon with four of my colleagues,on a jolly day out in leeds.what a beautiful building,it was like going back in time the decor inside was outstanding.I had a lovely chat with the manager, her name was Truly, so I was told by one of the bar staff, who inturn was charming. This woman seems to have worked so hard to revive this pub ,has worked 7 days a week, and you can see all the hard work she has put in.Lovely little booths where you can sit and have private conversations. Three beautifuly kept bars, just an amazing place, and then theres the beers,an assortment of hand pulled ales, around five or six I'd say ,two of which are permanent ,the others rotate.I can't wait to visit again, next time with my wife and sample some food.Thankyou Truly, for making my short visit so enjoyable.I take my hat off to this...
Read moreThis residence has a fantastic history in Leeds and a place rightfully so in modern social history. Unfortunately, it has "gone to the dogs". Food is average, and overpriced. The beer? Oh, and in the Summer, they open their back doors to air the place and it's then filled with the stench of their bins. Charming. I've frequented it for 20 years along with a large amount of my cillcollea, and itsi struck off our list of places to go. Just look at the building from a short distance. Filthy upstairs windows and dirty curtains. Would you rent a room there? Awful abuse of a historic site. You should be ashamed of yourselves and dontd deserve to...

Lovely selection of booths for those who like sitting in their own little world.
Blissfully lacking in big-screen sports TV which is a nice change from the other pubs in Leeds city centre.
Couple of separate rooms which are nice and quiet and great for enjoying the fantastic food they serve.
Decent phone reception which is important if you're trying to meet people.
Soft drinks are rather pricey ... a common problem fair, but no pub is going to get 5 stars until I can by a pint of lemonade for less than the cost of a pint...
