The Lawns is one of the very few areas near to Lincoln Castle that you can visit with children and dogs.There is a free play area section for children separated by fences from dogs and comprises several amusements -slide etc. Unfortunately the lawns has suffered from a radical change in its structure with the Joseph Banks Conservatory being removed and the area converted into more car parking. Futhermore, 64 healthy trees have been destroyed in this process , some rare and all were valuable in a city area that does not have much greenery.The old Asylum building was left in disrepair by the council for a number of years but recently this has been purchased by a local company and refurbishments are taking place.However, dog walkers, visitors et al have lost out as ther is now a reduced green area with new yet unannounced restrictions being imposed.Hopefully, these negative changes will be mitigated by the intended developments of a new cafe, restaurant and piazza for visitors and the upgrading of the Dawber gardens which are to be found behind the chidrens play area.We await these changes with baited breath and a...
Read moreWe only usually order drinks from here when we walk the dog but I have to say, the layout is terrible. If you just want a coffee, it's not clear where you need to order unless someone is on the front desk to direct you. I'm used to it now but during our visit on Saturday, a gentleman came in via the exit and waited patiently at the drinks connection end of the counter. At no point did any of the 2 baristas or the 3-4 other members of staff tell him where he needed to be - he was flat-out ignored. I get that he's in the wrong place (and I should have just said something myself) but he was only a few feet from the baristas and they could have easily directed him to the right counter. 2 seconds of their time but no, not a word. Read moreNatalie and kieran was the best organisers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They did everything perfect and we can't thank them enough for how pleasant, helpful and caring they are. They both deserve looking after if they were my staff I definatley would pay them a healthy wage, they would deserve every penny for all there hard work and long hours.
