Great ale, always the best quality. Great atmosphere with friendly faces. It's nice to see a pub that doesn't rely on gambling machines, televisions on every wall and loud music to be a place where people will keep coming back to. Lovely to see staff that look like they're enjoying themselves at work too! Would visit again!

Lovely staff and it’s an awesome pub for letting dogs in and giving our puppy a Biscuit and the food is amazing I went for the bbq pulled pork which was in the light bites but there was plenty. I had to have help to finish it off I just love the fact that dogs can come in brilliant pub

The interior looks amazing, it's a shame that the owners don't care about their impact on the historic environment. As you can see from this photo, the rubbish dump at the back of the pub has had a negative impact on the view from the castle walls. Hopefully, they will tidy it up ASAP.

Love this place especially the burgers but not this time No chicken mayo burger with crispy onions etc . I ordered it but 10 mins later got told they ran out but could don a turkey burger,I said no worries I try it. Unfortunately it was over done really no crispy onions just slapped together and tbh not where the turkey burger came from as it could of been any old frozen shop thing The hot chocolate nice but not the same description on plank,no nuts Carmel biscuit just hot choc squirty cream marshmallows. Not bad but for the price could of better hot choc and served on a saucer or small plate Anyhow would definitely give a 5 because the menu burgers are really good , but this occasion 2 x Atmosphere was good and a lovely young...

Disappointed. Been here once before... and found everything great.. but this time... a regular.. very drunk... just kept pushing in to the bar and cutting in to everyone waiting.. and bar staff allowed this and served him!!! Bar area smelt dirty... and the whole place felt down a level to what I had experienced before. Unfortunately after standing at the bar for ages... and being missed... various others being served.. (staff asking who's next rather than being aware of who is next) lead me and my wife to leave and found another local bar. Shame... as we we spend a lot... tip a lot and on this occasion felt let down. A great, real pub... but let down by...

After walking visiting family through a few of Lincoln's more tourist hot spots and pubs, this was definitely not a tourist pub, but we wanted something more authentic with a decent choice of beers, and we got it. The manager was happy to offer a replacement beer after the one I was served tasted a little off. I know this happens frequently with ales so wasnt surprised, but the attitude of the manager was excellent, very understanding and knowledgeable about his beers. A bit drab after the tourist pubs, but it kinda adds character and is used by seemingly local folk. Friendly and welcoming. Other staff were helpful and friendly...
