Once upon a time, in a place called Cheshire Oaks, a culinary adventure unfolded. Our story began at Burger King, where a revolutionary creation known as the plant-based Whopper Burger was causing quite a stir. A server posed a question: dine in or take out? I chose the former, envisioning a cozy meal inside the eatery. However, to my puzzlement, our meals were packaged up for takeout. Thus, I found myself seated at a table surrounded by a sea of paper bags, It was a wasteful sight, and I couldn't help but wonder why they lacked the convenience of providing trays.
Yet, the true essence of our tale lay not only in the culinary delights but in the experience as a whole. The service, unfortunately, fell short of the mark. The staff exhibited a mere semblance of enthusiasm, rendering the atmosphere lackluster.
A unique challenge emerged. The staff called out receipt numbers, offering mere moments for patrons to react before repeating the call with resounding loudness. (Yelling!)The room, though not filled to capacity, echoed with these boisterous summons. It was a comical scene, evoking a mix of bemusement and annoyance.
With anticipation in the air, I took my first bite, and oh, what a whopper of a taste it had! The flavours danced on my tongue, leaving me pleasantly surprised.
Stepping outside, I ventured to explore the play area that beckoned nearby. However, a peculiar sight met my eyes. The gate meant to guard the enchanting play space remained secured with straps, rendering it inaccessible. The reason behind this mystery eluded me, leaving me with a sense of intrigue.
As the day wound down and the sun dipped below the horizon, I reflected on this curious dining escapade. The eatery, once a vibrant hub, seemed to have lost its former charm. It wore an air of weariness, evident in the slightly run-down surroundings. The staff's spirit appeared dampened, their enthusiasm a mere flicker compared to the blazing fire of days gone by.
And so, my encounter with the plant-based Whopper burger unfolded as more than just a meal—it became a story of taste, service, mystery, and a touch of disappointment.
In the end, our culinary journey, though flavoured with gastronomic delight, was tinged with peculiarities. A plant-based Whopper burger that tasted of innovation, a room filled with echoing numbers, a deserted play area, and a staff devoid of zeal—weaving together to create a tale of a meal that was more than just a feast for the senses, but an experience filled with...
Read moreIf yesterday was my first time to this Burger King, then I would never return. This was my first time introducing my wife into my (usually) beloved Bacon dbl Cheese XL too. Overall I don't think anything went right on this occasion. We decided to eat in as it'll be hot and still fresh, but that didn't turn out to be true. So we ordered 2 xl dbl cheese meals and 2 king junior nugget meals. This was before 4pm on a Friday so at this point wasn't busy at all. First issue was that only 1 drink machine worked and it had the choice of coke zero or sprite zero, and regardless of which one they were flat (other people had complained at the same time, but I didn't care enough). We then receive our order on a very normal time. Issue two presented itself, and our king junior meals were just 4 nuggets, a drink and chips. No box, no toy but more importantly no information about why this was the case, but didn't want to make a fuss about this. Issue number 3 became apparent very quickly and that was the fact that one of the 4 nuggets only had 3 in it. Now in fairness I raised this and was told to keep the 3 and he'd make me 4 new ones which were done very quickly. But then issue 4. My burger was not fresh, not hot, or even lukewarm and extremely dry. Think of the burger you had left over from the BBQ and decided to eat in the evening. Something I've come to expect from my local and terrible McDonalds, not from (this) BK before. The edge of the bun and patties were very dry and hard. It was overall not tasty and had hardly any flavour too, however again I cannot be bothered getting up and down so just dealt with it. Chips were the usual nice chips. After I finished my burger I tried some of my wife's, and luckily hers seemed to have been better, and in fact still warmer than mine was in the beginning. In fact I had pick up orders from there that were still hot by the time I got home (15-20 min drive) than the burger I had in there. Guess I'll have to choose one of the many other places around there instead for a...
Read moreStaff at this branch are a complete disgrace and put the Burger King brand to absolute shame. Placed an order at 18:27 then watched as the girl on the till took an additional 5 orders. She placed each order receipt on a separate tray then wandered around the kitchen and fries, just kept on touching the receipts thinking ‘what am I going to do now?’ Another male staff member was on drive thru, no customers there so also wandering around looking important. Flicking the odd cold french fry back where it belonged. The manager of this circus was flipping burgers with no idea at all of the 12 disgruntled customers lined up. THEN, answered the office phone for a laugh and joke with a mate. After 23 mins I was told there was no burgers left for whopper or big king. Then no buns then no, wait, it’s the burgers I think? Only one drinks machine serving four drinks from a possible approx 30 meant to be available. Manager blamed poor training of staff and not his fault. Manager - You are an incompetent, spineless waster of a leader who shouldn’t be trusted to manage a glass of water - You should be slapped with a football sock full of diarrhoea. Didn’t even get a sorry or can we make you some other food... we have x,y,z instead of whopper/big king. Got 30 mins worth of nothing during an absolute farse. kids went home in...
