I was very disappointed with the experience at this TGI Fridays today. First, the atmosphere was far from welcoming. The place was messy, with tissues scattered on the floor in a makeshift attempt to block a draft/flood coming from the back door. Despite this, it was still quite chilly and I had to keep my jacket on throughout the meal, even though I was wearing a long-sleeve top. To make matters worse, there were cobwebs visible on the ceiling above our table, adding to the overall sense of neglect. Service was another major letdown. We waited over an hour for our food and it became apparent that the staff had completely forgotten about our table. Diners who arrived after us were served first, yet there was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay, even after we raised the issue multiple times with the staff. This lack of communication and accountability was very frustrating. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm. My starter (mac and cheese) and main (sesame chicken strips with chips) were both disappointing. The chicken wasn’t even cut into strips, was overcooked to the point where the coating was hard, and lacked sesame seeds as advertised. Pieces at the bottom were also poorly coated in sauce. The cleanliness of the facilities (both ladies and gents’) was similarly poor with tissues scattered everywhere and the loos being dirty. Overall, this visit was a major disappointment. From the messy environment and poor service to the lackluster food and untidy restrooms, the Cheshire Oaks TGI failed on pretty much every front. Needless to say, I won’t be returning to this branch and I wouldn’t recommend it to others. It’s massively overpriced/definitely not worth it.

Updated review (November 2024) I've been here a few times since my last review, but this time was the most disappointing time. The Fridays sesame chicken strip portions were smaller, now not including any salad, which I thought paired lovely with it, so straight away the starters were disappointing. The seating by the door is very draughty, so just make sure you don't make the mistake that we did. Prices. The menu has gone up a lot. The 2 for 1 on cocktails is a load of rubbish, they just massively inflate the price of the cocktails to compensate. Won't be in a rush to return back, as the value for money wasn't very good. ****************************************************************** ***This below is an old review from 5 years ago*** We went there on Saturday for my sisters birthday meal. I had booked the table appropriately 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived we did have to wait about 10 minutes for them to clear the table and prep it for us, but that wasn't an issue really. The waitress that served us had a lovely attitude and seemed very good at her job. The food was brilliant. There was 7 of us that went (nobody ordered alcohol) and the bill came to about £205 7 x starters 7 x mains 7 x unlimited refill drinks 2 x side orders It came to about £30 per head, but the service was great, the food was lovely and I will definitely be returning here. We were served by a lady called Chloe L. She was brilliant!

Our family of 4 visited for a birthday tea, this location has long been our favourite T.G.I's the food and service is always great, today our server was Ellie F and she exceeded all previous experiences we've had here. We hadn't told Ellie we were celebrating a birthday but she noticed the birthday badge very quickly and engaged the children directly getting excited with them. We always encourage the kids to order for themselves sometimes they struggle to decide Ellie was patient and understanding from start to finish. When our food arrived it was hot and fresh however one of the kids was feeling a little upset about her choice but yet again Ellie noticed came over and went above an beyond to help cheer her up getting her a balloon animal which was so lovely whilst also not forgetting our other daughter getting her one too, she then also made special effort to follow up on this mentioning how well our daughter had done finishing her meal which our she was very pleased with herself about after not wanting it initially. There was so many instances of excellent care and attention to detail I literally can't remember them all. Overall an excellent experience, great food and even better service. Can't wait for our next visit

I’ve been to TGI Fridays a few times and the service had always been average to say the least. Tonight however fell far below the “average” standards I’ve become used to. When we arrived there was one other large group already seated and a couple of tables of 2-4 people so the restaurant was no where near full.

Most of the table had unlimited drinks and every time we’ve been in the past the staff would come round regularly and ask if anyone needed a top up. This time we barely saw any staff to even ask so ended up having to go to the bar every time we’ve needed a refill.

Although we were a large group of 14 the food took about an hour to come, when it did arrive some of it was over cooked, cold or like warm. Some of the food was sent back and the replacements were slow to arrive (when most of the group had finished eating) personally me and another person didn’t send ours back as we were concerned it wouldn’t come back for another hour.

We were there to celebrate my sister in laws birthday but the poor service took the shine off the occasion, my brother in law went to have a word with the manager while was very apologetic and offered the whole group a free drink/milkshake/cocktail etc and sorted an extra discount off the bill at the end, but the whole evening had the shine taken off by the whole experience.

We got to speaking to one of the waitresses whilst waiting the manager to sort the bill and she said that they’ve been told by head office to prioritise any Deliveroo/online orders over people dining in, she said the other week they were really busy so they turned off the Deliveroo/online system to take the strain off the kitchen and let them catch up on orders for the restaurant and within 5 minutes they had a call from head office telling them to put it back on. This makes no sense to me take service away from the people that have actually bothered to turn up to the restaurant in person for people who can’t be bothered to get off the sofa and go to the restaurant.

In my opinion the music is too loud it’s hard to have a conversation especially if a louder song comes on.

Sorry TGI’s but I’ll not be in a hurry to come back...

We arrived here on Tuesday evening for a special birthday meal for our daughter’s 7th birthday. Very friendly welcome and was seated immediately. However, this was unfortunately the best and only good part of our experience that evening. We firstly ordered drinks whilst looking over the extremely overpriced menu! We have been to TGI’s before and feel that it’s never been quite this expensive. Our starters came which we were enjoying however we hadn’t finished them when we there then being served with our main meals. It would have been nice for us to have been allowed to finish our starters and have our plates cleared away before having our main meals. We ordered another round of drinks with our mains which we had to ask for twice and our side dishes didn’t come out so we had to ask for these too. After we had finished eating, we ordered deserts. Whilst the kids were enjoying their deserts they then brought our daughters cake out which the candles had burned out and sang happy birthday. It would have been nice for the kids to have been able to finish their deserts first and for the table to have been cleared before being presented with the cake. It just felt like the staff were rushing us all night to get us out of there so that they could finish work and go home! No sooner had the cake been brought out, the waitress slid the bill next to my partner whilst again we were still eating! We might of wanted to order another round of drinks but obviously they wanted us to pay the bill and leave instead. It was Tuesday evening, wasn’t busy but yet felt like we were being rushed out. Overall, a very very disappointing visit here! We were really looking forward to this celebration and family time with the kids but it really did put a dampener on the night and to be honest we would never eat here again! How can you justify your prices for such mediocre food and poor customer service? We could of eaten at a more upmarket restaurant for half the price! And will be doing so next time! I would never recommend TGI’s to anyone. It is no surprise to me now why so many of your restaurants are closing down. Will not be...

If I could give my experience today less than 5 stars I would.

The server “jenna” took our order we then gave her a code from the app to save some money as my partner wanted the unlimited deal and the saving was great if we used the app. My phone was low on battery so we quickly went onto the app and gave her the code she even showed me how to get the code.

After we’d eaten we asked for the bill she then came over with it and asked me for the code again to which I replied we had already given it to her (once you click claim offer to get the code it disappears off the app). Jenna then started to get defensive and say I gave her no code. I explained I must have given it to her as my partner and I read the numbers out to her together and the voucher had gone off the app as I had clicked redeem at the time.

Jenna then accused me and my partner of lying over a voucher to which my partner said he will just pay full price. I was disgusted with her tone of voice and the fact she was not only shouting at us in the middle of the restaurant in front of children but also accusing us of lying. When I requested a manager she laughed so I shouted him over myself. When he came over she began to talk over me not allowing me to explain so I shouted back at her, a male member of staff had to encourage her to leave our table and go into the back to which she SCREAMED at the top of her voice “GET OUT” turned around and walked into the back open area and let out a massive scream like somebody had died.

As a server myself I was shocked and disgusted that any member of staff would speak to a customer the way she did. We will never be returning again which is unfortunate as my partner raved about the food.

A young man from the Liverpool restaurant was present and he apologised and gave us a small discount for the inconvience he was brilliant. Jenna on the other hand an absolute disgrace.

I have the email for the area manager who witnessed this and apologised himself, I will be taking...
