I’ve been to TGI Fridays a few times and the service had always been average to say the least. Tonight however fell far below the “average” standards I’ve become used to. When we arrived there was one other large group already seated and a couple of tables of 2-4 people so the restaurant was no where near full.
Most of the table had unlimited drinks and every time we’ve been in the past the staff would come round regularly and ask if anyone needed a top up. This time we barely saw any staff to even ask so ended up having to go to the bar every time we’ve needed a refill.
Although we were a large group of 14 the food took about an hour to come, when it did arrive some of it was over cooked, cold or like warm. Some of the food was sent back and the replacements were slow to arrive (when most of the group had finished eating) personally me and another person didn’t send ours back as we were concerned it wouldn’t come back for another hour.
We were there to celebrate my sister in laws birthday but the poor service took the shine off the occasion, my brother in law went to have a word with the manager while was very apologetic and offered the whole group a free drink/milkshake/cocktail etc and sorted an extra discount off the bill at the end, but the whole evening had the shine taken off by the whole experience.
We got to speaking to one of the waitresses whilst waiting the manager to sort the bill and she said that they’ve been told by head office to prioritise any Deliveroo/online orders over people dining in, she said the other week they were really busy so they turned off the Deliveroo/online system to take the strain off the kitchen and let them catch up on orders for the restaurant and within 5 minutes they had a call from head office telling them to put it back on. This makes no sense to me take service away from the people that have actually bothered to turn up to the restaurant in person for people who can’t be bothered to get off the sofa and go to the restaurant.
In my opinion the music is too loud it’s hard to have a conversation especially if a louder song comes on.
Sorry TGI’s but I’ll not be in a hurry to come back...
Read moreWe arrived here on Tuesday evening for a special birthday meal for our daughter’s 7th birthday. Very friendly welcome and was seated immediately. However, this was unfortunately the best and only good part of our experience that evening. We firstly ordered drinks whilst looking over the extremely overpriced menu! We have been to TGI’s before and feel that it’s never been quite this expensive. Our starters came which we were enjoying however we hadn’t finished them when we there then being served with our main meals. It would have been nice for us to have been allowed to finish our starters and have our plates cleared away before having our main meals. We ordered another round of drinks with our mains which we had to ask for twice and our side dishes didn’t come out so we had to ask for these too. After we had finished eating, we ordered deserts. Whilst the kids were enjoying their deserts they then brought our daughters cake out which the candles had burned out and sang happy birthday. It would have been nice for the kids to have been able to finish their deserts first and for the table to have been cleared before being presented with the cake. It just felt like the staff were rushing us all night to get us out of there so that they could finish work and go home! No sooner had the cake been brought out, the waitress slid the bill next to my partner whilst again we were still eating! We might of wanted to order another round of drinks but obviously they wanted us to pay the bill and leave instead. It was Tuesday evening, wasn’t busy but yet felt like we were being rushed out. Overall, a very very disappointing visit here! We were really looking forward to this celebration and family time with the kids but it really did put a dampener on the night and to be honest we would never eat here again! How can you justify your prices for such mediocre food and poor customer service? We could of eaten at a more upmarket restaurant for half the price! And will be doing so next time! I would never recommend TGI’s to anyone. It is no surprise to me now why so many of your restaurants are closing down. Will not be...

The server “jenna” took our order we then gave her a code from the app to save some money as my partner wanted the unlimited deal and the saving was great if we used the app. My phone was low on battery so we quickly went onto the app and gave her the code she even showed me how to get the code.
After we’d eaten we asked for the bill she then came over with it and asked me for the code again to which I replied we had already given it to her (once you click claim offer to get the code it disappears off the app). Jenna then started to get defensive and say I gave her no code. I explained I must have given it to her as my partner and I read the numbers out to her together and the voucher had gone off the app as I had clicked redeem at the time.
Jenna then accused me and my partner of lying over a voucher to which my partner said he will just pay full price. I was disgusted with her tone of voice and the fact she was not only shouting at us in the middle of the restaurant in front of children but also accusing us of lying. When I requested a manager she laughed so I shouted him over myself. When he came over she began to talk over me not allowing me to explain so I shouted back at her, a male member of staff had to encourage her to leave our table and go into the back to which she SCREAMED at the top of her voice “GET OUT” turned around and walked into the back open area and let out a massive scream like somebody had died.
As a server myself I was shocked and disgusted that any member of staff would speak to a customer the way she did. We will never be returning again which is unfortunate as my partner raved about the food.
A young man from the Liverpool restaurant was present and he apologised and gave us a small discount for the inconvience he was brilliant. Jenna on the other hand an absolute disgrace.
I have the email for the area manager who witnessed this and apologised himself, I will be taking...
