Absolutely fantastic food, some of the best pasta I've ever had. But not exactly a great experience on the service.
The place was busy, and we figured things might be a bit slow and were fine with that. However, they seated us at an out-of-the-way outdoor table (around a building corner, not in view of the kitchen or doors) which they may want to block off when they're busy as: After 25 minutes, we still hadn't had our drink order taken, despite many other parties that had arrived after us being seated and served. We eventually had to go inside to the bar and ask if we could put in our order, at which point they sent someone over. We were told we couldn't order pizza, they weren't doing that today. We figured that was fine, and adjusted our order accordingly. Then while we waited for our food, we saw other groups that'd arrived after us being served pizza. Our food was dropped off hurriedly, with no napkins or cutlery (which might've been okay for pizza, but...not so much with pasta and risotto). We eventually had to go in to ask for napkins. Never came by to see about drink refills until the meal was completely done and they brought the check. And after dropping off the check, it was another 20 minutes (according to the time on the check) before we were able to flag someone down to let us pay. Again, this entire time, the waitstaff were attentively handling other tables. The menu mentions that they may add a 10% 'discretionary' tip to the bill. Apparently they felt this tip was warranted, and happily added it on.
Disappointed, as the quality of the food and the location had us excited to have found a Liverpool gem, eager to return. Don't think that'll be...

If you’re looking for a solid spot for a meal out midweek, The Buyers Club is the place to be. The food is top-notch—fresh pasta, and the vegan options are always a hit with my girlfriend. The venue has a fantastic mix of industrial, bare brick vibes with a bit of Italian countryside charm—very unique. If you’re lucky enough to get a sunny day, the inner courtyard is the perfect spot for enjoying your food and drinks.
Venue: The venue is a perfect blend of industrial style and cosy charm. Exposed brick and a relaxed atmosphere make it a great place to hang out. The courtyard is a fantastic addition, especially in the warmer months.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere here is relaxed and inviting, with just the right amount of buzz. It’s a great spot for a meal or drinks, and the outdoor courtyard makes it even better when the weather is nice. It’s not overcrowded or noisy, so you can enjoy your time without feeling rushed.
Service: The service is always solid—friendly and efficient without being overbearing. You’re well taken care of, and the staff make sure everything runs smoothly, even when it’s busy.
Food & Drinks: The food is always fresh, with the pasta being a standout. They’ve got great vegan options, so there’s something for everyone. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, so it’s not about fancy drinks, but the selection of beers and wines...
Read moreI’m a local who has come here often and always thought the food was great, but the service not to the same standard.
I’ve just walked out of the restaurant after being spoken to extremely rudely by the FOH host, coincidently the 2nd time in a couple week she has spoken rudely to me.
I’m part of the music group, we are rehearsing at the Philharmonic and I’ve spoken very highly of the food at the Buyers club so a group of us came down to get some lunch.
There is currently a deal on for 50% off for groups six or below. Six of us turned up and a few minutes later another three turned up on my recommendation and agreed to sit separately so would not affect the 50% deal. The lady would not have it and thought we were trying to swindle them somehow.
As much as I try to explain what a poor business decision she was making and that we did not come together as a group of nine, she would not have it and asked us to leave. My jaw hit the floor and all 9 us stood up and walked out.
The other member of staff was much more accommodating as it was genuine coincidence that the other three turned up. You would hope as a business they would take it as a compliment that someone recommended their restaurant to out of town musicians who are here all week.
It was the 2nd time I have been spoken rudely to by this lady. What a shame and an awful way to...
