We had a dealing with the events team regarding our wedding and I have never met such a bunch of unprofessional individuals ever.
We attended their wedding event, gave our details and were promised thing above and beyond only for the details to change as things progressed. We were told that we can mix and match the menu …. Turns out we can’t. Everything is non negotiable from their side. Kids menu are £28 per child with only chips and fish fingers on offer. The event room they are offering has a pillar in the middle and there is no ideal way to put a table in there. Yet they want £66 per person for a pre prepared menu where no flexibility is offered. Everything is an added extra and there is no initiative on their side. We asked a simple question ‘Is there anything additional you do from your side?’ And we were told that ‘well we can give you the cutlery with your meal’ … as if we are supposed to eat with our bare hands!!!
Shauna and Lauren, you two do not deserve to represent this hotel as an event coordinator. I am really disappointed by your unprofessionalism and your reluctance to have any flexibility.
Such was the conduct of Shauna that there another event coordinator from the hotel, who was working nearby but was clearly able to overhear our conversation, was appalled about Shauna’s behaviour.
To London Carriage work, if you are wondering why you have empty events room and why your tables and hotel is not getting as many guests..,. This is why. The conduct and unprofessionalism of the few in your team are ruining it for your customers. We are a paying customers who went with cash to book your team for a wedding celebration but the conduct of your events staff has put me...
Read moreTLCW is ideally placed for a visit to the Philharmonic Hall. It gets busy, and booking a table is recommended. We booked a table through opentable on the same day. Tradition hasn't been lost in this restaurant. On arrival we were greeted and our reservation confirmed. The front of house staff offered us a seat in the bar to order an aperitif while we browsed the menu. There were two menus. The a la carte and a prix fixe. Again a nod to traditional dining but here it stopped. The dining room is light and modern, and the tableware contemporary. There is no cover charge, so water is ordered (tap water is available) and fresh bread of the day is served hot once your meal has been ordered. The menu is varied and balanced without being too pretentious. The portion size is just right if you are sitting through 3 courses. However vegetables or potatoes do not come with the dishes and are ordered separately. Each course delighted. Cooked to perfection and seasoned accordingly. A 10% gratuity was added to the bill which I asked to be removed. If you recieve good food and good service then you should tip, but it's at the customer's discretion not the establishment's We left our waitress a tip bigger than 10% in cash as our evening was faultless. Wheelchair access is possible. However it would be worth calling ahead to let them know, given the layout of the restaurant. Toilets are downstairs (basement), however there is a lift. On street parking is metered (pay and display) until 6pm. Blue badge holder can park for free all day long in any pay and...
Read moreFantastic, please do not miss out! Went as a couple pre theatre meal with menu fixe at 4 pm. Not sure who was the brigade in the kitchen but some real talent. The technical delivery was enviable and stands up to any challenges. Amuse bouche of beef cheek and fondant potato with a deep jus, great start. Duck rillettes in a formed pan fried roll, three different plate sauces in Jackson Pollock style but the onion jam was the star, real skill. Other side of the table enjoyed a pastry onion tart topped with goat cheese fondant and grilled but again the wild garlic dressing contrast was colour and taste with the pickle onion juice pearls, wow! Mains were lamb cooked sude vide and then pan fried the potato mandolin prepped was a genuine million layer roast. Salmon perfectly cooked two ways pan and as a fish croquette. No puds but shared a cheese plate home made sesame tuille. The current chutney a real treat. House red was fun soft but full and spanish, white was a fresh Sauvignon Adobe from Chile both very good and for the price recommended. Friendly helpful front of house team. Highly recommend very high food presentation and...
