Was very disappointed on remembering Sunday this year and same last year. For years we have been coming to this pub and meet up with all the veterans. But this time this pub did not open its doors till 12pm on the dot. The staff stood waiting watching all of us outside freezing cold to come in, some of these men are in their late 80s. This pub has been a meeting point for years. But I let it go last year thinking it might be new owners. I was then surprised it happened again. The staff and owner should be ashamed of themselves as this is one day a year and should have the respect for all our veterans to open a little earlier, especially when they see these veterans stood outside waiting for them to open. By the time they aloud us in they had one bartender on, they have now lost a lot of business and respect for this year. Most of us walked out and will definitely not be back next year. I hope the owner reads this and listens to what I’ve said. It was so disrespectful of your staff watching the clock and laughing at these old veterans freezing and being rained...
Read moreHad been a regular here for years but aware since new management changes made are not for the best What a shame !!! The beers are not trusted brands and food not great and expensive for pub grub However against my better judgement l took my daughter there for a bite to eat and a pint Thursday 6th June -- got there around 5pm and place unisually pretty quiet We got a pint each then browsed the menu o my to be told the kit hen was closed !!! So why were all menus still on the tables We had barely touched our pints but decided to leave hence best part of £10 wasted !!! Therefore have rated 2 stars and reluctant to return to such a badly run pub !!! Great shame -- obviously manager thinks they don't have to make an effort as is a well known pub in city centre How wrong can you be and word...

I have heard people say on a number of occasions it's the last thing they expected in Liverpool. The pub is split into a number of distinct areas so you have the bar, restaurant , a cosy corner and a chilled area. It always has a really nice feel about the place and it seems to attract a more mature crowd. The menu is not as extensive as some places but the food quality is excellent and worth the premium price. It gets a whole star for having Scouse on the menu. The only negative - and only because I have dodgy knees - is the toilets are in the cellar down a...
