I absolutely love getting the chance to eat out in great places, and without doubt Mowgli is so one of my favourites in the city. Liverpool being unique as it boasts not one but two. They boast such character with the decor it's already a feast for your eyes and that's before you've got the food. This visit was actually my first time to the Bold St restaurant on a whim. Luckily there was space for walk-ins as the website kept showing nothing available at the time I wanted to book. So, don't let that stop you as it would be a shame to miss out on such fantastic food. A very polite and courteous welcome, details given for track and trace with the choice of indoor dining or the newly expanded on street dining area, which for me could be a game changer for Bold St. It looks great and really creates an additional dimension to your dining experience. Having been seated asked if we'd eaten at MOWGLI before, which I was very happy to say I have several times at Water St. The staff are very helpful & informative about how to order with the use of the app, which you can use to pay with or normal way. The look of the place is fab. The food is a genuine culinary delight. My personal favourites are the Chat Bombs, Treacle Tamarind Fries and Gulab Jamun but there is so much more. I already can't wait to go again. I've even checked out the new location for the Edinburgh restaurant. If your visiting, thinking about it or have already been recommended to go, then what are you waiting for, love, love, love Mowgli

I had really high expectations from this place after reading about it on their website. Sunday evening early dinner plans and got a place straight in. Really excited to eat so we ordered 4 starters, 2 mains, a portion of rice and 2 portions of rotis. The first starter bomb shells that arrived looked lovely and tasted great so we were relived that we have found a good Indian restaurant outside London but then came the bhel puri and it just went downhill from there. The bhel puri was just smothered with the green chutney and looked as if someone had vomited. The lamb chops were nice as my husband said cause I don’t eat Lamb and grilled chicken was average too. I was really looking forward to the mains and mostly to the rotis(bread) but the rotis were the store bought and Just reheated on the grill pan. The rice was heated in a pan with burnt cumin seeds and didn’t taste fresh at all. In mains we ordered Goan fish curry which was way too sweet nothing like the authentic curry and ginger chicken had no taste of ginger. The food came out quick but was not hot or fresh. Felt everything has been just reheated. The interiors are good but didn’t expect this kinda food from such a restaurant. I am an Indian and I know my food and have good taste and tastebuds so I m really fussy and honest when it comes to Indian food. I guess it suits the English palate.

I would traditionally fall into the category of a fussy eater, I am particularly fussy about vegetables and greens as some put it I am a meat and potato man normally. However my brother is forever widening my horizons and I am so glad that he is! We went to Mowgli whilst catching up in Liverpool, it was around four in the afternoon and we were both really hungry as we walked up and down Bold St looking at the options it just popped out. The service and setting is a little unique, the food arrives once it is cooked regardless. This can mean that you are eating whilst the other at your table are not. They also are small dishes so they recommend ordering 3 or so dishes each off the menu. This is a good idea as the food is amazing, such explosions of flavour and texture. I had the gunpowder chicken (picture attached) which used chillies to excellent effect, followed by the butter chicken and puri. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and way the dishes arrived as and when allowed for us to have excellent conversation over the meal. We both also enjoyed the cocktails which had a spiced edge adding to traditional drink flavours. We will definitely be going back, don't miss out take the opportunity to try something new! Will definintely be going back

Amazing! I don’t normally use that word when I’m reviewing meals for I’ve eaten. I ate there in early evening last Thursday. While the street and other restaurants weren’t crowded, Mowgli’s was full and I had to eat at the window bar. There are 4 seats there and two were taken. My only complaint about my experience at Mowgli’s is related to eating at this space. I had no place to put my coat. Sitting on a bar type chair, with my coat on my lap and a napkin to keep my lap and the coat clean was a bit of a balancing act. I eventually used the seat next to me for my coat, but that seat should be for a customer. There is a small nook on other end of the this bar area where a few hooks could be added to improve the customer experience. My food and server were great! The timing of the food and presentation were perfect. If someone forced me, I would say that the Temple Dahl was my favorite, but it was all so delicious. Great combination of flavors that made me want to keep eating long past being full. My meal was Mother Butter Chicken, Temple Dahl, Roti, and Basmati Rice. I had the Yoghurt Chat Bombs as an appetizer. The waiter suggested them and he was spot on! They are delicate so you must place the whole thing in your mouth at one time, no little bite here. What an explosion in my mouth. At first I thought it was too spicy hot, but the coolness of the yogurt perfectly balanced the heat. The flavor combination in this appetizer is perfection! Make sure you reserve a table if you want to eat here, and you want...

Beautiful simple food, not your typical Indian food restaurant affair. Definitely the street food vibe as the food tasted proper homemade and it wasn't too spicy which was great for me as I was able to tell the difference of the flavours in each dish and enjoy it more. As majority of restaurants tend to use the same flavouring and seasoning for lot of dishes so this was refreshing. The decor and style of the restaurant was beautifully made, loved the aesthetics and the vibe of relaxed dimly lit atmosphere it gave. Only minors I would say is I wish the restaurant was a bit bigger as it gets very noisy with so many people in a small place. It was sometimes hard to hear the other person when having a conversation. And it may just need a little bit more lighting as I love the dim lighting but it was a bit dark.

It was very busy all the duration we were there, so you book for a table when you visit Mowgli and they said a table will be available in 30 minutes so wasn't too bad as there were bars nearby to pass the time. Very swift service and as their saying goes on their menu, the food comes as and when it is cooked so food doesn't come all at once which I quite enjoyed the way that worked actually. I think they only accept the last bookings till 9pm ish as in the last service stops from there and they close until whenever everyone leaves the restaurant. I would definitely come back here again for the quality of the food whenever I visit Liverpool...
