Great coffee that’s why I always visit on a regular basics. But I encountered an awkward situation which leaves me to question the nature why it happened. I went into one of location in Liverpool, I went to the counter to place my order, while by the counter I notice that the staff were preparing coffee for what looks like a photoshoot was taking place at the side of the shop/ restaurant so I decided to wait without being acknowledged but then I am a regular customer there and always get treated with respect maybe after this my service will change. Today went quite different because I sat down to wait while what I walked in on the staff were doing get done but then a white man walked in to the counter and he was acknowledged straight away and then the server looked at me and said something but because I had one earphone in my ears I didn’t hear well, I told him he could serve the man first because i was starting to think what is this. I must admit I am always in there buying coffee in the same clothing so maybe I look some type of way or maybe it’s just prejudice because I don’t want to feel it’s racial. I felt embarrassed but I can’t tell what I felt because even the coffee starting to taste different just from the experience. I wanted to say something to the server but I don’t know what the turn...
Read moreBest coffee in Liverpool. They have four blends to choose from and some delicious cakes and cookies. The wi-fi is fast, there are good books to read and the design is charming with some lovely, comfy sofas. The staff are polite and even though it has happened once that I got a subpar esspreso which was a bit too watery and the crema had already dropped down this has never been repeated(and I have been here plenty of times). They also have stamping cards for regulars and you can get a free coffee every so often. The place is very laptop friendly and there are wall sockets dispersed everywhere. My only complaint would be that the tables don't always get wiped and cleaned as they should. Also, to end on a positive note, the smell of roasted coffee is positively intoxicating and any coffee lover will be drawn inside...
Read moreThis coffee shop definitely knows it's market - lots of plug points and long bench tables for that caffeinated laptop time. It's near the uni so likely very busy with students in term time - we went in the holidays so it was fairly quiet.
The coffee was really, really excellent - I'm somewhat of a snob, but their in-house roast was top stuff. I also had the sheer joy of finding their tempting, delicious looking fruit pastry by the till was gluten-free and vegan. Their range of snacks is deliciously inclusive, and changes regularly.
Nice range of seats from cosy corner tables with plush chairs, to bigger round tables for group gatherings, to the aforementioned laptop-space benches. Something for everyone!
Staff were very friendly and approachable too. Glad we ran into...
