Like so many pubs and bars these days, the Old Bank is quite literally an old bank. A grand building with a lot of old features, presumably kept or leftover from when the building was actually a bank. High ceilings, big old windows and a grand central bar area with seating to three sides. I've said repeatedly and commented in my other Liverpool based reviews that Liverpool is one of the friendliest cities, and the staff at The Old Bank were/are no different. They were really chatty, happy, helpful and so friendly. It's how the city is and almost everyone that we've come across has been exactly that, happy and friendly. We popped in for a few drinks before heading out for our evening meal. We viated during Happy Hour, with IPA on tap for a pint for £3.50 👍 and two-for-one cocktails for £9 - and that was for the same or two different cocktails, which is good, as so many place restrict two-for-one cocktails to the same one; so that pleased Mrs G. Another good thing about the Old Bank was the live music, a good singer who didn't kill any of the songs that he sang. Plus he didn't take a break in the hour or so that we were at the Old Bank. So a good atmosphere and music appreciated by everyone. Level 9 Google reviewer; 1,000 plus reviews, 1.5 million views and over 12,000 photos with over 45 million views and still going strong 💪. Although I'm not enamoured with Google and their service at the moment 🤷🏻‍♂️. They're inconsistent. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

We were looking for a place to have Scouse as first time visitors to the city. A lovely pair of ladies let us share their big booth table with them on a Sunday evening as there were not other spots available. My friend had the scouse which was great, and I had the best roast dinner of my life - generous service of the beef. Only shame was that the advertised cauliflower cheese on the menu was all out. Fantastic value at £12 though. We enjoyed our meals and the live music was great too. I am sure we will return if we are ever in Liverpool again. We were going to go to 2 other places nearby that rated highly for their scouse - one stopped serving food at 5pm, which we weren't aware of until we arrived at 5.15pm, and the other one was a very "blokey" pub feel which was not really our style as 2 ladies visiting a new city. The Old Bank was perfect and I'm so glad we walked past it. The young blonde lady who served us was lovely and gave us some tips about places to visit in the city. The ladies we shared the table with were disappointed with their fish and chips ones they saw my roast!

The Old Bank is an iconic, well located restaurant in Liverpool. With an exuberant, luxurious interior, you're transported in time into a time of grace and glory. The menu has a varied selection of drinks and food, all reasonbly priced and thus tremendous value for money. Its quality is also above average, not feeling frozen but fresh (even if it may be frozen - I'm not sure). Besides this, the staff is attentive and quick, although slightly more absent than my liking due to the numerous customers in the establishment, in contrast to the number of staff available. Regardless, the experience is overall 5-star for the price and value for money, good location and proximity to the station, quality and variety of the food, attentive and kind treatment by staff, and lastly, impressive decor. I'd recommend and come again.

We booked a hen do cocktail making class and meal for 30th July 2022, We were upstairs in a small area were the cocktail class was set up for us, the cocktail making class was held with connor and this was very enjoyable and connor was great however it all went completely down hill after this, we finished the cocktail making class and were moved over to a table on the same uptairs level, I want to preface this by explaining this is a small upstairs area our of the way, after we had sat down, above our head were two tvs that were off but then as we sat to eat they had put them on with the football match on and invited large groups of men upstairs sitting all around us with the football blasting above our heads we couldnt hear eachother speak. Another hen party arrived during this, they were supposed to be starting there cocktail class, I have no idea how they were supposed to do that with football fans surrounding the whole area, obviously this is not the football fans fault, the fault soley lies with the venue and the manager Nicola. We asked connor and megan our server if we could have the tvs turned off as this is not the experience we signed up for and PREPAID for, unfortunately we were told their manager Nicola refused to asist in this matter and just told them to tell us we should of been prewarned the football was on, we were never prewarned and we booked months in advance. We finally asked to speak to Nicola directly, she agreed it wasnt fair the situation we were in, as you only get one chance to do your hen do, so as compensation Nicola offered our bride a meal and wine for two to have at a later date and we provided her with our brides details on the night. Our bride never received the promised compensation, i have since contacted the venue 5 times via phone call and twice on the website and have been continually ignored. This venue unfortunately made us feel that they do not have space for women or womens events, we feel ignored and completely disrespected, happy to take our money and then treat us poorly. I feel we gave them ample opportunity to make this right and frankly they dont care. I would 100% AVOID. This is a day we will never be able to redo and the old bank have tainted our brides hen do and thats something that can never...

Staff ridiculously rude - it felt like a social experiment and we were waiting for hidden cameras to pop out and tell us it was just a prank but no. Hard to believe that people are just so downright rude. First poor experience with one particular female server who was definitely the worst in the team, ordered 3 drinks with her at the bar like you would anywhere and she responds 'am I supposed to remember all that yeah' deadpan serious. Then we were sat on a large table upstairs and most members of our party ordered food, she brought two plates, didn't acknowledge anyone, didn't say what the meals were or try to see who they were for she literally just threw each dish down the table with such force they slid, it was almost comical she was so unbelievably bad at her job. Whole staff team weren't much better, there's been shocking reviews regularly for months so management clearly don't care enough to change anything. Should actually consider rebranding and making their incredibly rude and incompetent staff a selling point then they'd actually be good at their jobs. Avoid...
