I don't often buy Vietnamese food as my parents often make us the best Vietnamese food. But it has been a while since they have made us Pho, and my wife and I had a craving for beef Pho. We found this little take-way/delivery only place and made the 15min journey to go and pick up the pho.
We ordered the Oxtail and Ribeye Pho and one each of the summer rolls and winter rolls. The beef broth for the Pho was outstanding, definitely the best Pho I've had (besides my parents of course). The broth is exactly as it should be and it has the depth flavour of richness that is only found in lovingly made home cooking. It is very apparent from the first sip of the broth that it has been cooked for a long time to bring out as much flavour as possible. Our favourite was the Oxtail Pho, we shall be coming back for more of that! To be honest, I had never had a winter roll before nor did I know what to expect of one. I was pleasantly surprised, the flavour was very good. There were some similarities with the summer roll, but the flavour of the winter roll was distinct from the summer roll and worth trying. The peanut dipping sauce that comes with the rolls was fantastic.
All-in-all a fantastic little gem that should be added to your 'go to' list if in search for excellent...
Read moreThe Pho here is really amazing!! The rib eye is my favourite, but the chicken is also great 🍜 summer rolls are fresh and delicious too!
The guys here are also super friendly and know their stuff👍🏻
I just wish they were open more often, and at the advertised times. It's super disappointing to arrive at 3.40pm and to find no one in the kitchen and hear the mobile phone ringing out.. I mean, I'd come back at 5pm if I could.. it's that good!
PS. There's delivery, but otherwise takeout only. They have limited opening days/times, so check it out before you go.
Also, they serve straight from their kitchen, so there's not a shop front just some screen doors. You can find them at the rear of...
Read moreWe were really disappointed. We wanted to try a different Vietnamese spot in east London and unfortunately this didn’t hit the spot. We ordered the vegan pho, the tofu tasted like fish and the broth was really bland. The mushrooms were all clumped together and the tofu was really dry. There was an odd aftertaste to the spring rolls which really put me off my food. Having worked in many Vietnamese restaurants and really enjoying the cuisine, this restaurant did not hit the mark for vegan Vietnamese options. Absolutely can’t talk for the meat options, probably great! But need better vegan recipes...
