STK Steakhouse – Stratford — Restaurant in London

I have been coming to STK rooftop every single year for my birthday for the past 3 to 4 years. I came last weekend for my bday and can I say how downhill this place has gone for the money you spend? Where’s the old manager Shem he was great Firstly, we travelled nearly 1 hour 45 to get here. We got there 10 minutes late and it was empty. One of the first things the lady said when she saw us was hi just so you know you’ve only got “1 hour and 10 minutes on your table as we are really booked today.” Bearing in mind we’ve gone here for 3-4 years in a row and never been told this before. It already set a bad mood to the vibe. So I said okay fine. Can we sit outdoors because it looked very nice and we usually always sit indoors. She repeated yes you can but “you still got an 1 hour and 10 minute on your table.” Which really annoyed me because she repeated that twice in the space of two minutes there. A lovely waiter came to our table, introduced herself but then told us for the THIRD time that we only have “1 hour and 5 minutes on our table.” This got highly irritating. We were then in a bad mood. After that my friend said let’s just leave but I convinced her to stay. They mentioned so they stick to timing it will be smooth sailing food wise. I know from the previous years before that they take an extremely long time to bring your food and dessert so I knew that an hour wouldn’t even work for them. We then ordered food as soon as we got there because we felt very rushed and then went to go take some pictures near the STK sign. As soon as we went to take pics during a man in a shirt ginger ish hair barged her (it looked like a manager I’m not too sure) and he didn’t say sorry so that put her in a very bad mood aswell. Everyone was just walking in and out of our pics rushing around no sorry not like how the usual years. Me and my friends whole time there was just we didn’t get to catch up we just ate really fast and listen to the music because we felt rushed not like we could sit and talk. The staff were constantly in and out in the outdoor eating area watching everyone like a hawk waiting for someone to go, which was weird because there were loads of empty tables, throughout the night. I mean, I counted to the least the whole time we was there…There was 4 empty tables out of 9 on the outdoors. On the indoors to the minimum there was about 2-3 big tables empty the whole time we was there and that’s just what we could see. I mean, there was so much staff, but every single one of them were just looking at the peoples plates and if they had nearly finished their food, checking if they were done or wanted anything else, like a box to takeaway or whatever… to hurry them which I never had in all my years there usually it was a hard to get there attention or they would take long to come. I didn’t get to enjoy anything at all. But their times weren’t really realistic anyway we ordered food as soon as we got to our table probs about 6:50 our food came at 7:30 and we were expected out just before 8. We hadn’t eaten or got desert yet? Quite rushed and not thought over. I said to my friend were gonna stick around after we finished. There’s quite a few empty tables …so we just stayed after we ate food and tried to talk. But staff were in and out still watching us. I said if they get full or if they tell us to go we’ll leave. But rushing us for people who haven’t even shown up yet is wild. The vibe was already bad, so my friend wasn’t talking too much.l My bill alone was 130 without service charge. My cookie dough in the middle was hard as biscuit i could only eat the outside of it. You never rush people as soon as they get there the bookings system is free a lot of people don’t show up. But you can tell People if we get busy we may need your table back after whenever time. By nearly 8:30/9 it was full but they were still a lot of empty table we could see.We even got to a point where we had to ask the waiter if we could order dessert and he said that’s a silly question. Reallly not happy won’t be returning for...

I had the worst experience here. My best friend took me on my birthday, we had a booking for 8.30 and didn't get a table until 9.10, which would have been fine had we had a good experience! We got upstairs and ordered and I said to the waiter I couldn't eat cheese so please make sure if I order anything with it to tell me. They then proceeded to bring bread to the table covered in blue cheese which we weren't told at first but it looked questionable so I asked, when I said to my waiter remember I can't eat cheese he just shrugged and walked away, I thought ok fine, my friend can eat the bread I'll wait for my meal (even though at this point it had been like an hour and I was starving!) On top of this our waiter was very chaotic, it's as if he didn't know what he was doing, every time we ordered a drink he'd pour it without looking and run away so quick that he spilt every single drink on the table which dripped nicely on my trousers! At one point he was so out of it he picked up a bottle of empty water from the table next to us forgot what he was doing and came to pour the last few drops in one of our glasses and we weren't even drinking water! Next the main came, i ordered steak and lobster with mash specifically asked previously if the mash could come without the parmesan crust and I was told of course, when it came guess what was on it? Parmesan so I had to send it back, it took more than 20 minutes to get a new one and at that point I'd practically finished my steak. Again this isn't even the worst part. My friend ordered a steak dish, fhe waiter specifically asked, how do you want it cooked, he said medium rare, when it came it was way too well done and when we told the waiter he tried to argue and say you can't have this steak medium rare it must be medium (it was also way beyond medium!) We told him it's ridiculous it's a steak restaurant and you asked how he wants it so please take it back and fix, he took it only to come back 20 mins later and say the chef said he can't do it, it has to be medium, he asked my friend if he wanted anything else but by that point I'd eaten so he said there's no point now and so he didn't get a meal. At this point we were both fuming and so asked to speak to the manager the manager wasn't really sympathetic and handled it so poorly, I told him it was my birthday and this experience was a joke and he asked us if we wanted a dessert or anything for the trouble but it was way too little too late and so we said please just bring the bill so we can go and my friend can get fed elsewhere. So he left to get the bill, made us wait another 20 minutes and then proceeded to do the worst thing he could, he sent over a birthday ice cream with sparklers and which just drew attention to us that we clearly didn't want as we were so angry by that point. The manager just watched from the corner as the waiter who's service had been awful all night had bought this half ass attempt of a gesture over, when I refused the dessert he just left it on the table and the manager in the corner just shrugged and walked away. The woman next to me even turned to me and asked if I was OK and said that was the worst thing they could have done. The whole experience was a disaster, worst service I've probably ever received and really ruined my birthday evening out. Absolutely awful, don't waste your money, it's really not worth it! So many better real steak houses that will actually cook your steak the way you want it instead of arguing with you to have it the only way they know how to cook it! Literally the only 1 good thing about this place was the dj who did a great job which is why I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere but unfortunately the good music wasn't enough to make me want to return for a terrible...

I’ll start off by saying maybe it’s just this branch that thrives off hostility, go to a different branch you’ll have a better experience. We had a booking for my friends birthday, got there and was shown our table we booked for 10 needed up being 7 so they changed our table. The cake for my friend was given to the lady at the front and she said she’d let our waiter know where the cake was and what time to bring it. Once seated the birthday girl asked for a strawberry daiquiri which I can appreciate they don’t have on their menu but the waiter assured her that the bar staff could make something similar, he brought over a pornstar martini, while handing it over he said it was a strawberry daiquiri once he realised she wasn’t slow and realised what it was he took it back and said he’d change it. He came back with a daiquiri, he then took all our orders for drinks, this in total with the drinks waiting time took about 30mins. Once we finally got them we insisted on ordering as the drinks took a while to come. We told our waiter we had a girl in our party who had a dairy allergy, he then asked “is that real or fake” as a waiter I don’t believe he had any right to ask such a question if you asked us if anyone has any allergies? He took our orders but seemed irritated for whatever reason. It took almost an hour for our food to come, the table next to us had ordered from the same waiter, got drinks and food in the same time we had ordered drinks and they got a smile. Once the food came our waiter didn’t ask if we needed anything else and then disappeared the whole rest of our service, when it was time to pay he became frustrated at the fact we took off service charge, which anyone would with the way we were treated. Our plates remained on the table for over 40mins until we complained to the manager, the manager came over and said “this is the first i’m hearing of it so it’s news to me” I never knew that we had to get a manager involved in order to get our WAITER to clear our table. No apologies from anyone, in between this time we asked about 4 different waiters to clear our table and serve us for drinks and they said they’d find ours to no avail. The couple next to us even said they don’t know why we were being treated like that, our waiter then gave them their bill on the house to which they told us. The group of guys opposite us even made comments to the waiters that we’d been waiting for ages for someone to attend to only us. This is the worst place I’ve been to in a while in terms of customer experience/service. You’d think that was all, the waiter finally made an appearance after an hour and a half, we asked him to finish cleaning the table as we wanted the cake for my friend. He then proceeded to bring their cake, with the table still full so we ended up clearing the table ourselves and putting the stuff on another table and he brought their cake again. We then asked him where our cake was and he said he didn’t know. He was then seen arguing with another waiter before a different waiter found the cake!! He then brought ours over and we did happy birthday again… then finally you’d think that was it! A fire alarm an alleged fire on the 18th floor which is where we were so we all had to be evacuated. The same waiter in question was behind me and he said “did you enjoy your night” I replied “no and you know that” and he said “good so terrible night all together”. This was truly the worst experience from STK I’ve been to other branches but this one will never...
