It’s understandable that the sabich not going to be comparable with the ones I had in Israel, but other than attempting myself at home with my Israeli jar of amba, this is the closest I can get in London. The good points: Hummus tastes nice with a hint of tahini. Egg with amba is always nice.. and the lady positioned it perfectly so that you can taste it from beginning to end. The minor points: Hope the lafa can be served warm. Room temperature in London is cold, unlike Israel (I can still see my breath sitting indoor.) Perhaps it’s also better to wrap it in parchment than foil. I am afraid i swallowed some.. It’s hard to say if the sabich satisfied my craving or not. Maybe next time if I pass by I should get the less unique falafel and hummus instead. The falafel is really good and heart warming. Crusty but nut crumbly and full of flavor.

Really upset w Balady today, been coming here religiously for years and the prices have shot up and the pita has shrunk a considerable amount. I asked for extra salad, and the woman argued with me and couldn’t fit it in the pita it was so small. Listen ,for 8 pounds you can get an enormous bowl of food from over 50 vendors outside your doorstep, including a salt beef sandwich 10 meters down the road… I think the price before the increase (£6.50) was fair for fried chickpeas… £8 pounds and 30 perc reduction in size is feeling like an insult. I’ll think twice about coming here now. Please let me know if you adjust the price back to where it was before the increase.. Update: ended up getting a refund because the pita was stale.. PLEASE listen to your customers who have been supporting you for years

The food is delicious, fresh ingredients , their tahini and everything they make with it are top tier. This branch is only vegetarian , but the food is so tasty that will satisfy even the most hardcore carnivore. Their chips were not as good as the ones I tried in their Goldens Green branch , but it might be just a bad day. Friendly service ( the brothers are very polite and helpful) Prices are on for the area. If you like tahini , and Israeli street food - this is your spot !

The staff are some of the kindest people I’ve met. I realised I’d lost something important and had a panic attack outside their store. Even though I hadn’t bought anything, they quickly offered me a seat, and also insisted I take a bottle of water FOC. When I explained what had happened, they helped take care of my luggage so I could go looking for the item, and even tried to help me search for it when my efforts were unsuccessful.

Y’all really turned an awful day right around. Thank you so much for your kindness, it meant a lot.

(Incidentally, my boyfriend, who lives in the neighbourhood, has found their falafel to be the best on Leather Lane after...
