Came here for lunch at around 12 with a friend, not many around at that particular time but a few more filed in. The barman was a lovely chap got our food and drink sorted quick sharp, shared Mac and Cheese bites and the Cauli Bites. Both were lovely and tasty no complaints, after that had the steak sandwich and veggie burger respectably and chips. Both were again lovely and warm, very tasty, only complaint being the steak was slightly overdone but other than that very nice.
Came for dinner again at quarter to 8 or so, bit busier now but got seated again quickly. Drinks order took a bit longer but with the increased numbers that can be looked over, shared Nachos to start. Quite tasty, but of kick to them and salsa was lovely, overall have had better but these were by no means bad. Mains were the Surf N’ Turf and the Salt and Chilli squid with Dirty fries, both of which came quite quickly. Steak and prawns were excellent, “Block Sauce” unique to this establishment was quite lovely and different as a steak sauce. Friends meal was also excellent with the calamari being quite good. Drinks rounds after that came more often despite the understaffing, approx 3 staff on floor and one in bar, but all staff were competent and good, polite servers.
Would definitely come here again for the same food or something else if I was in...
Read moreWe tried this place as it looked good from the outside and was close by to where we were staying. The drinks weren't to bad quite a selection on offer. The food in my opinion was shocking. The kids burger i mean there was hardly any meat inside and we ordered a cheese burger but it had no cheese inside which i found was very odd. The butchers block we ordered was totally didnt even look like what we got. I had to re-read the menu several times to see what was exactly on my plate. The sauces provided did not go with the overall dish. The fries were so dry no sauces were offered.
Staff service was good i must say but i felt they kept coming back trying to sell sell on more drinks which i have not see anywhere else before.
Towards the end we got someone else's bill to just top the night right off. I mean how can you get the bill wrong when the place was not even 25% full. I think we were all at that point to just get out of there.
All in all i would say there are much better restaurants within close walking distance and dont waste your money coming here. I don't recommend this place at all and i think someone should need to have a word with how this establishment is run and have a good look around on how to have customer retention.
Even for breakfast there is a cafe down the road much cheaper and value for money...
Read moreWe went in on a Sunday night and it was fairly busy. After ten min wait at the desk without any acknowledgement, the waiter came over and said ‘I have no tables as it will will be half hour wait and you don’t want that’. We said we were happy to wait and he waved his arm at us in the direction of the bar. We sat at the bar for 15 mins with no service for a drink, having said that, a lady had been waiting at the bar from the moment we had walked through the door but still hadn’t been served. A good while later some other customers walked in and asked for a table, clearly saying they didn’t have a reservation. The same waiter went to show them to seats!!!! He saw the look on my face and said ‘you want a table?’. So we got a table. We ordered drinks and food fairly quickly but after that no one came to the table again except to deliver food. My son had the kids ‘three course’ and only got a main as they forgot the started. In the end we waited so long we couldn’t be bothered to ask for the included desert. We wanted to pay and leave and even then we had to wait for the manager as the bar lady was not allowed to use the card machine! I have to say, the food was OK, not bad but not great. The experience, however, was awful. I think premier inn need to put a rocket up their behinds given it is linked to...
