UPDATE: visited today. what a change. i stood waiting to be seated (it was virtually empty) whilst staff larked around and sat around ignoring me. i ended up having to call out a couple of times and even had to whistle to get their attention at one point. not that they took any notice. ordinarily i would have walked out but i was meeting someone. FINALLY got sat down. i wasn't rude to the waitress, despite being annoyed. eventually i got asked if i wanted to order (a drink). when the food arrived (wasn't too long a wait, about right).... the onion rings were great, i didn't eat the burger until much later (i took it away.... burgers still amazing).

but the fries were AWFUL. they'd obviously been recooked and just left to go cold. definitely not fresh. but i ate them because it was about 4pm and i hadnt eaten all day. a couple hours later, i was sick - stomach ache, sudden and fast nausea and vomiting. it was DEFINITELY these fries. i don't know what was done to them but i knew they weren't right and obviously should have said something at the time.

that waitress, and whoever thought those fries were okay to send out have really let the brand down. i won't be back, ever.

there was another couple in there and they looked miserable. i don't know why but could it be they were having a similar experience...?

Having never had the beyond meat burger before, I was excited to try this. Came on a Sunday evening, it wasn't busy.

The guy serving took my order promptly and when I asked if the wine was vegan, he said no instantly and told me the beers are not either. This is a negative on the restaurant (vegan wines and beers being so common and serving vegan food - it's a simple change to make really) but also a positive in that the guy knew they were not (often servers wouldn't have clue about this so at least the staff are knowledgable). I had a gin cocktail instead, tasted great.

The food came super fast (like fast food fast), probably because it wasn't busy. The chips (rosemary salted) are spectacular and the burger, with vegan cheese and all the trimmings was the best Vegan burger I've had. So tasty, and just like the real thing (I'm a vegan who loves the taste of meat so enjoy eating things that taste like it).

The meat choices I'm sure are delicious but for all those vegans out there, or those looking for a meat free meal, this is the business. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, the food is great and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Hopefully the restaurant could stock a vegan suitable wine or beer to...

Contemplated for a minute if I’m gonna make a fuss about my experience in the restaurant but I decided not to when I was there. However, I think the context of the story is still worth telling.

Context:

My order was first delivered to the man sitting beside me. They gave him my double smashed burger with chips and a gravy. The man told the lady server that he did not order gravy so she took it back and left the burger with the man. The man was about to start eating when they realised that he got the wrong order. The lady took the burger back and brought it to the kitchen and gave him a new one. However, he had already poked the wrong burger with fork.

A minute later, they brought me my burger. And I immediately knew that it was not changed because the fork marks are still there. I even measured the marks with my fork just to see if it is really a fork mark and it fits perfectly. So yeah.

Anyway, the food was not bad at all. The chips are crispy, the burger not too dry and the gravy was tasty. Paid £18-19 including the...
