This stylish Turkish restaurant hidden amongst the towering skyscrapers in the City of London, Baraka is among the best restaurants near Liverpool Street in my opinion. The interiors is modern, contemporary and sleek - it's sure to impress you and your friends. Baraka in Turkish means a wooden hut used for socialising and eating, and Baraka embodies just that. There are long communal tables that's able to host large parties, horseshoe shape booth for more intimate groups and an open kitchen when you can smell the mouth-watering food. For food, it's incredible, Most meats and skewers are cooked over a charcoal open flame which imparts a lovely smoky flavour. Even the potatoes was next level. It's beautifully presented too so it hits all the senses. The hospitality is second to none, and if all you want is a drink, there's a lively bar with intimate tables at the front of the restaurant, and an outside terrace that going to be perfect in the summer for some alfresco action. I can't recommend Baraka highly enough. It's perfect for special occasions and a catch-up with friends over spectacular food.

Overpriced dishes, undercooked meat (chicken was half raw), tuna starter was in extremely salty soya sauce, had to be sent back. Bad combination of spices and everything way too salty. I understand some restaurants make dishes too salty to sell more drinks, but with the prices in this restaurant this is really not necessary, as makes the food taste awful. Was there a few months ago previously, and food was much better. Obviously something went wrong, as everything changed. Service was bad, food was inedible, service charges huge and food extremely overpriced (small lunch for 2 without alcohol came to about £120, besides - the extra item was on the bill that we did not order, server of course took it off, when I mentioned it, good I bothered to check the bill!!!). I did not photograph all the dishes, just some. I am sorry, but for the prices you charge, this is unacceptable. Will not recommend.

I work in the same area as this restaurant and decided to book a table for dinner. Used their web form but got no response so called up and spoke to someone. I managed to get a table where I could watch the England’s euro match. Nice looking restaurant and the food was delicious, however, there were some things that need improving. I had to call a waiter to order drinks and we were there for a good 15mins. When we had finished our dishes the male waiter abruptly came and removed it. Now I understand that the waiter was probably trying to avoid blocking people’s view of the match but needs to relax. I will add that the waitress that took the food water was polite. Given the location I’m very likely to go there again and I’m sure service will be better next time. Would recommend the food!

A very disappointing experience largely due to an unpleasant wait staff. A small group of us came for a weekday evening booking. Throughout our meal, the waitress (young lady with a high ponytail) was rude and abrupt, kept coming to clear our plates when we were not finished with our food and made us feel quite unwelcome. There were numerous empty tables when we were there, so not sure of the reasons for rushing us.

She cleared our plates and somehow ignored a direct request to place some leftovers into a takeaway box. When she took a specific plate away, she said she would get another box for it but when it hadn’t come out by the end of our meal she said that she had thrown it away. Maybe a case of miscommunication/misunderstanding as English did not seem to be her first language, but her apology seemed very ingenuine and she came across as generally very irritable. She did not bring us the additional water that we requested. She gave us the dessert menu but did not give us a chance to actually have a conversation to decide what to order, standing over us to pressure us.

Generally a bad attitude and too many examples of poor service in one sitting - will put me off visiting again or...
